The Collected Works of Jim Morrison: Poetry, Journals, Transcripts, and Lyrics

Like many I'm sure I bought this for the 1970 poetry reading on an audio book which is alluded to in the description on the book order page."Hear Jim Morrison’s final poetry recording, now available for the first time, on CD or digital audio book, at the Village Recorder in West Los Angeles on his twenty-seventh birthday, December 8, 1970"But there is no audio book so why make out there is??It is a decent compilation of his work but I have all his poetry that has been released including a copy of Paris Journal. A nice reference but I wanted to hear the 1970 session but it is not on this so why the hell make out it is? I feel cheated as I would not have pre ordered this if I had known the truth of the non existent audio book and would have waited a few month and got a used copy. Having glanced through it I found that the Doors photos were the usual you see all over. Not any never seen ones. The photos in general are very poor quality indeed the HWY colour selection a perfect example. It will make a good door stop but is a major let down to this fan of over 50 years.

A great chance to get all of Jim’s stuff finally in one place, LOVE IT.And if you read the description of the book on amazon site it doesn’t say anything about you getting the cd with the book, you only get the cd with the cd version of the book or here Jim recital on the audio download book.

A truly magnificent book. Beautifully presented, printed and bound. A thoroughly professional publication of the life work in prose and poetics of one of the Worlds' most underrated poetic genuises. If you are a doors fan of any description you just cannot NOT buy this incredible book. Its massive to hold and beautiful to hold in your hands. Content? its all here under one roof. The lot. Wverything he wrote. that we've found or are allowed to see. As near complete as we are ever likely to have. Did anyone else notice multiple missing lyrics? I was looking forward to having the final word in print to pour over again but there are a lot missing. The scans of his handwritten work is amazing though. Great collection overall and worth the money.
