Excellent fan
For the money, this is an excellent fan. It is very well made and sturdy. As others have stated it can be very loud, I would say at it's highest setting it is near impossible to have a conversation. Lower levels are still loud but not at all bothersome to me. Now, how well does this move air? WOW! That's how well. I tend to leave mine on the medium or middle setting, and that is plenty good for moving air out of my garage. On high it is a downright beast, and at the right distance and angle, it even blows leaves out the garage door. I also gave 4 stars on installation, I attempted to do it but it was just too bulky and awkward to do so, especially as I wanted it mounted at ceiling level near the corner of my garage. I got my electrician to do it, he ended up actually hardwiring it into a newly mounted wall plug. This looks better as there is no slack extra cord to be tied up, and having it now attached to a switch I just flip the switch to turn it on. This alleviates the other complaint of the drawstring being too weak and getting sucked into the fan. I just leave it on the default medium setting. Get it, you'll be pleased.

Fan great! but Very Loud!
We live in FL and our garage is like an oven in the summer time. Plus we have a freezer and refrigerater in the garage. The heat is very hard on these appliances, plus when we put our car in the garage the engine is almost next to these two appliances. Need I say more!!! We mounted this fan high on the back wall of the garage. When the fan is on we either open the garage door all the way or we will lift it maybe a few feet. The fan definately takes the temp down. In the summer in FL, this fan will not cool your garage, but it will take the temperature down a few notches. This fan is very, very, very loud even on low setting.

Moves air but a few drawbacks as well.
The media could not be loaded. We put this fan in our 3 car garage. It really is loud but what do you expect from a 2 foot diameter fan. This thing is huge. It really moves the air around which is what we needed. You can’t quite tell the difference in sound on the video but I tried. The current position it is in is as far down as it will tilt. It is in a fixed tilt position. There is not an option to adjust it as needed. I wish it would tilt downward more or even have that option when needed. Also pull cord is short so we will need to get a pull cord extension to turn it on and off and adjust from low to medium to high. It does not come with mounting screws to attach it to the wall. They were not missing from the package, they just do not provide them and state that in the paperwork directions so be aware of that if you are planning on installing it as soon as you get it. You will need 4.

works great!
we bought 2 of these fans for our shop they keep the air moving through out the shop on hi or low speed. made a huge difference in temperature. We didn't notice when we bought the fans because we purchased them a few weeks apart. one is 1/4 hp the other is 1/2 hp. both fans work great. i would recommend this fan which is the 1/4 hp its super quiet compared to 1/2 hp.

Blows Great
I bought a few of the same sized fans from Northern Tool and were a little less expensive but blew half the air that this same sized fan blows. I was so disappointed in the Northern Tool fans and ordered two of these 24" fans and they blow so much more air than the box store models of the same size. This fan appears to have a heavier duty motor which would be required to have a fan blade with more pitch to blow more air and a little more expensive but worth the extra to keep fan size smaller. In fact, I have two 30" fans from Northern that blow a little less than this 24" fan and was about the same price, so I really like this fan much more since it is smaller and better built. It is a direct drive so is some noisy, but not excessive to use on my patio in Southeast Texas where it get HOT and humid and really need air blowing to be somewhat cooler. I would and likely will buy more in the future.

A Serious Fan
I bought this fan for a new screen porch and had it mounted to my wall. As other people have commented the unit does not come with mounting bolts which is somewhat frustrating, but once it was mounted this fan can move some serious air. Not overly loud at the low setting which for me is plenty of air movement. It obviously has an industrial look to is, but it does not look bad. Clean lines and the unit itself feels very solid, the motor is substantial. We've loved it and this summer I think we are going to love it even more.

Works WELL
Works better than I expected. Had to modify the mount for the position that I needed. Not a quiet fan, but it is in the garage and can still talk. This thing moves the air. Used in a 2 car garage and the way its mounted hits every corner of the garage. Now its no problem being in the garage at or above 100 degrees. Have used it constantly for about a month so far.

A well made product, just not a good fit for me.
I bought this fan to use in my garage, I am a Florida resident. All components are well made and easily assembled. My only complaint is this fan should not be used in a home setting. It sounds like a piper cub airplane engine when running even at low speed. I wished I had returned it but packing it up would be more work than I am willing to undertake. I found this product to be well made, just not a good fit for me.
