It's a good book. Someone had written about how sunless their childhood was (to that person, hope you're doing better now!). Mainly because of this book, I was happy to discover that at least thanks to my childhood friends and a friend's mother, I saw some kindness, a sense of belonging and a sense of being just right for the world. There was some sun in my world, even if it didn't come from my bio-family. There were other aspects of the book that were good, but even if limited to that singular discovery, then this book has done its job. I cannot express how much gratitude I feel towards that aunty, and I hope I'm able to tell her one day. My one grouse with this book and with many other such books is _how much_ credit they give to Buddhism, when meditation, self-knowledge (swadhyay), separation of thoughts and feelings from self kind of concepts were first postulated by Hinduism. Otherwise, a helpful book provided you do all her exercises.
