great winch
i purchased this winch for my 2500HD Duramax since i have regularly found myself in some odd predicaments requiring a winch. i installed this winch on some Iron Bull Bumpers and they both match up perfectly for my truck. it has a fairly quick line speed under light loads and will really pull well when you need it to. installation can be a bit cumbersome when it is mounted behind the bumper, and some of the tolerances between oil coolers and intercoolers can be a bit tight but in the end it works out well. i did notice a slight change in the handling of the truck once the mounting was complete, but it is minimal and adding an additional 5-10 psi in your tires makes it less noticeable. along with this winch, i purchased the Rugged Ridge 30,000k snatch block and a 30,000 pound 30 foot tow strap since the line capacity on this winch is only 90 feet, and the working line length is only 86 feet-ish since you need a minimum of 5 wraps of line on the drum to do those heavy pulls and extend the capabilities of a good solid anchor point for pulls. i recommend this winch for those who have the bigger vehicles and may need more than the standard 110% rating of your vehicle weight for winch purposes. also, i recommend at least 2 people when doing the install on this winch since it is a bit heavy and can be cumbersome.

The Best of the Best
Absolutely brute of a winch. This was bought more of a insurance policy in case I needed to pull just about anything out short of a bulldozer. I routinely end up in mud 4 or 5 feet deep. My winch Mount is made out of 13 inch 3/8 thick C channel. This is a very heavy winch, recommend to have at minimum 2 people helping to lift/carry this. Also I recommend a power upgrade with high amp Alternators/batteries if using on a old truck like mine. I usually use it at least twice every time I take my truck out. Very worth itAlso this is made in America, which was the main reason I bought it

The Best of the BEST
When you are stuck or you need the best, who Ya gonna use? Warn 16.5ti!! Why??? Cause its the winch that first responders use to get the folks outta a ditch or control a situation from getting worser (yes that's a word) when things need some pulling! This winch is a behemoth, that will save yo, well ya know. Don't be stuck in a situation where you'd wish you had the extra pulling power. Buy the best and just know you have what it takes to get the job done! First responders know what works and Warn works for us every day! I just flat out love this winch. Looks absolutely great on my 2001 Ford F-250 behind the bumper hidden and needed when ready to help when the needy get stuck or are in need.

Didn't hold up
I put this winch on a truck that weighs 20k pulled pretty good at first but after using it maybe 15 times it's pretty well shot. Probably work ok on a pick up but didn't hold up for extreme use. Did get me out of some jams though.

In the box is pretty much everything you will need for a basic installation
Ok, where to start. This thing is a beast. When most of my friends came by to look at it on the work bench, they all started laughing at how big it is. Be sure that what/where you going to install it on, can handle it. It weighs about 130 lbs. I comes with wire cable already pre-wound on the drum. In the box is pretty much everything you will need for a basic installation. There is 6 feet of loomed red wire, and 6 feet of black wire. Has 12' cable remote and the hook with WARN leash on it. Also in included is the steel fairlead. All nuts, bolts, and washers are included. I opted to go to my local WARN dealer to get a WARN power interrupter solenoid to install inline to have a in-cab power ON/OFF ability. I can tell this thing is going to pull my F350 Super Duty or ANYTHING else out of a jam with no sweat. Attached photo(s) have wench temporarily mounted in my Go Rhino wench plate.

HEAVY DUTY
Wow , you should see the size of the wire cable on this beast .Also has a metal cover instead of plastic for control box .Haven't installed it yet , but will soon & will get back on how well it performs .This will be my 4th Warn winch & like all Warn products , you get the best . Seriously heavy duty .

But a cable this large is very easy to snarl
This is a very well-built very heavy 16,000 pound went. It is installed on my Ford F2 50 crew cab. I have tested this which under an extremely heavy pull getting my crew cab truck at 7500 pounds sideways out of her right. On the plus side. The Winch did not overheat it does not bog down. As most of the other comments state it is brutally tough. On the minus side the 5/16 inch steel cable is very heavy. Due to the strength and weight of the cable it is very difficult to free school out and back in under difficult conditions. I am not complaining about the heavy-duty nature of the winch it is why I bought it. But a cable this large is very easy to snarl. It has to be manually guided in and out so as not to snack because there is no winding tension or or cable guide to keep it from Starling up. For a winch of this price that is a big disappointment. It is also somewhat dangerous. This winch should have a tensioner and a wireless remote so that it can be safely operated at a distance from the wench while under load. I am afraid Warn has sat on their heels for this one and saved development for the more popular models. I give it for stars because I suspect this winch will be on my vehicle for years to come strictly based on its durability. I do however caution people to realize that a 12,000 pound which with more user friendly features may be more than adequate for most people's needs.
