Good ruler for crafts.
One of my hobbies involves table top gaming - wargames, skirmish and RPG. As I like to have scenic elements to help with visualisation of a particular area - be it a battlefield or small area of a town or village. This is usually achieved through card and foam board models or other materials. My previous ruler was, I think, about 30 years old and was really showing it's age with faded markers and numbers, spots of rust and rough edges. It was time to replace it. Unfortunately, it appears that nobody makes anything like it any more. Not even remotely, and the company I bought it from has long since either closed or been absorbed into another company. This resulted in an extended search for a reasonably firm metal ruler that would allow me to use it as a guide to cut foam board, but had clear markers for measurement of card and similar materials. This was the fifth ruler I tried. The previous ones were either too flimsy, too coarse (with the measurement marks up to the edge of the blade creating a rough edge) or, in one case, had a strange rubber block on the back to stop it slipping, but which lifted the whole thing 2 and a bit milimetres off the surface and creating a wiggle space that the scalpel blade takes to mean it can wobble and not cut straight. This ruler at least addresses some of my needs. While it doesn't have a straight or 45 degree cutting edge built in, it does have a nice sturdy construction, a large flat edge and clearly marked measurements that do not interfere with the edge. It is reasonably rigid, doesn't flex easily and doesn't slip around on the surface of the material I want to cut. It's not quite what I want, but it is more than acceptable and I am more than happy with it.

Strong ruler
Happy with ruler for cutting with scalpel, but wish the edge was finer for some of my very fine cuts that go down to half a mm, a bit too thick to properly view for those type of fine cuts.

Very worth it, but obviously not the best
This review is based off the price, the issues are expected and have no negative impact considering that this was so cheap. The only issue would be the strength however this product highlights perfection where the structure is just good enough that proper care should lead to years of use. And at the price point this is at, I wouldnt complain.

Seems to be far too flexible
I purchased this steel rule for marking and cutting picture frame mounts but it seems to have too much of a flex and not lay totally flat on the surface I want to measure and mark for making a cut which has led to unnacurate measurements meaning that I have to remeasure and remark the material which takes more time to do so
