Super soft, durable
Super soft, durable. I've had pairs for years, and the quality seems unchanged over the years.

Exactly what you would expect, as advertised. For the price a great value.
Like the fluffy socks. The size is as described. I am on the edge of the medium and the large. I tried the large and they were too large the medium seem to be a better choice for being on the edge of the size.

They Fixed It!!!
So, as a quick look through the reviews of these socks will reveal, there was a point where Gold Toe was going through a dark phase and failing to produce quality socks. Many of the Fluffies from this era (let's call it 2009-2013) would start falling apart almost immediately, with large threads coming loose and significant holes opening up for no reason (other than the shoddy quality of the materials and workmanship). It was a somber time for those of us that had come to know and love the Gold Toe Fluffie, which is probably alone among dress socks in providing a nice balance of comfort, warmth, dryness, breathability, and sharp looks. The conspicuous decline in quality led to Gold Toe being banished by several department stores that had carried them for decades: they refused to foist defective crap on their customers. That's why so many of the other reviewers have found these socks hard to find in their brick-and-mortar stores. For a while, I sought a replacement brand, but no other could match the Fluffies: the competitors' thicker socks were often too heavy and trapped moisture; others were too thin and provided no impact cushioning or protection from cold and snow. In despair, I tried ordering from Amazon and hoped for the best.It worked out. Gold Toe has heard our complaints and responded -- the socks are now well-built and reliable. I waited for some time (and numerous washings) to see if these would begin falling apart as their slightly older siblings had, but they have held up admirably. You may order in confidence.

These are the closest thing to the original Gold Toe crew-size Fluffies
You'll see comments at JCPenney and Macy's that people are having trouble finding the Gold Toe crew-size Fluffies. Too thin or dress, not crew, size. I've tried a few. These are it or the closest thing. The sock purchasers are pushing or people prefer cotton blend socks now. Socks are the one thing cotton is not good for. They don't wick away dampness.

I purchased size 12-16.
The size 12-16 goldtoe sock is the same width as the smaller sock size (with upper limit 12.5). The 12-16 size is longer for longer feet, but it is not wider in the calf for the proportional wearer. These are OK if you have thin calves. I don't have thin calves so they would choke/constrict if I did not fold down the tops. Really, these socks should be designed for proportional people. I'm proportional. I also was an athlete many decades ago. I gave the 12-16 sock 3 stars because of the failure to design for proportion. Seriously, the 12-16 sock is the same width as the smaller sock (with upper limit 12.5) and that is poor design.
