Hard case but small enough where it's not too bulky. Fits my cord and probably some other small accessories if I wanted. Seems pretty sturdy and hasn't failed me yet.

My Garmin Montana 700i GPS fits perfectly
I have not used this case for any severe duty. I use it when I want to store my Montana 700i GPS in a safe place in the car. Thus far it has worked perfectly for my needs.
