Cost effective way to troubleshoot earth leakage
My sister in law had a tripping RCD which I suspected was being caused by a device work earth leakage in her kitchen.. this meter is cost effective and accurate, helped me track down the circuit on her split board and then which device (by trial and error) once we knew the circuit. Turned out she had a leaky device and a failing RCD, saved us hours of electrician time trying to establish that and sorting the device ourselves. Easy to use, nice form factor and decent quality for the money.

Good quality product
A good product and appears to be well calibrated compared to my other test equipment and very good for low current earth leakage measurements my only gripe is it only measures AC and no case with it ☹️

First unit faulty, mA readings unstable
Reading in earth leakage mode varies depending on orientation around and position along the conductor pair. Reading anywhere 6mA - 78mA with no change in the attached load (30mA RCD not tripped)Returned in the hope that this is a faulty unit.Unit was indeed faulty. Replacement arrived with minimum of hassle.Tried out in same location, gives a stable reading at 6mA which responds to changing loads, rising to 18mA with oven and tumble dryer on full load.

Seems to work fine so far measuring the earth leakage seems accurate so in all a good buy.

Sent back, I wasn't confident in the readings I was getting.
Seems ok. But for very small amp readings, eg. earth leakage, I found these to be unreliable, if you move the wires around through the inductor, the readings would vary between 0mA and 6mA. Not good enough for me, especially when you often can't choose how you approach the conductors.Some reviewers have found these to be very acceptable, I'm not sure if they're just hit and miss and I got a bad one.I ended up putting my hand a little deeper in my pocket and got a much better one with reliable readings.Amazon customer service fantastic as usual, no hassle at all returning the item, not something I do very often at all.If accuracy, sensitivity, repeatability, reliability, and test confidence are important to you, unfortunately I can't recommend this meter. But you might get lucky and get one which works wonderfully.
