Can I charge my mobile phone with this device

Yes. 1) plug this device into a 13amp socket 2) insert 13amp plug with USB into the device 3) inset your mobile phone lead into the USB 4) insert the other end of the lead into your phone 5) switch on the 13 amp socket 6) select the amount of time you want the switch turned on by pressing the button at the top of the device. (button not shown on picture but it is there and is easy to use.) Then, Bob’s your uncle and Fanny’s your aunt!! It’s a good unit and worth the money.

What is the best lamp to use thia with for security when im away

A Lamp with an LED Bulb saving electricity.....but you can use any lamp as long as its switched on at the particular time you want to switch the lamp on and off the next day!

Is there a visual indication of the repeat function being active? EG if there is a short mains outage, can you see that the timer is now fully off?

Hi When on repeat daily function each time segment indicator flashes on a countdown basis! On normal manual press all the led light light up depending on which duration you choose! Therefore if there is no power source the led indicators will not be visible/active!

I have set my timer for 5 hours but a red light flashes at the time it is supposed to go off is this right

Yes it will flash to confirm number of hours selected,if you have selected repeat function Will not flash if you select countdown.The red lights will turn off one by one as time elapses
