Oh yes, it stays in place. I haven’t worn the straps at all

I think it’s best if u measure ur hips and wasit and order based on that vs weight/height. I like mine really really tight so I had to return mine and order down but I wear this garmets often and am experienced in putting them on…it might have felt really tight to someone who doesn’t wear them daily tho. My hips are a 40 and waist is 26 but I’m 5’3 and 155 so don’t think weight matters on these because probably depends where u carry most ur weight.

Q: If I remove the straps will this stay up and not roll while dancing or even bull riding, is the zipper in the crotch easy to remove ?

I haven't tried it without the straps to see if it stays in place but it is tight so you should be okay but. you would probably have to pull it up if you feel it slipping. Yes the zipper is really easy to remove.

You need a size small. I am 5’2” and 145 and the small was almost too big so I think you will be fine in a small.
