Works very well!
I've used this on several saws for a little while now. The initial setup was slow while learning the process, but watching the video on YouTube helped. Once it's up and going it works quickly and well. The chain was sharper and in better condition than new and i can easily keep it that way.

I highly recommend this product
The sharpener will return your sawchain to razor sharpness, saves gas and wear on your saw. I use Oregon 72LGX chain on my small 5hp saw and the Stihl Rollermatic on the 10hp MS880, both chains have different angles, but both pull shoelaces from the wood, like hot butter. Whether you only prune your yard trees or a professional arborist or logger, this little sharpener will do the job in the shop or field. I get fast straight cuts after sharpening, and if you have ever hit a stone, insulator, lag bolt or otherwise chipped your sawchain, you know that afterwards, the kerf becomes curved as the chain cuts asymmetrically, in a few minutes, depending on the damage, chain length and hardness, the Grandberg does the restoration without burning your chain and destroying its temper like the disk grinders do. Please note that I have not referred to this sharpener as a grinder!

This is the best sharpener for a great price , very pleased how it works , it's quite , sharpend the chain like new or better, .I never was good at sharpening chainsaw chains and going through slot of chains cause of being crooked , uneven , this sharpener gets it even with the right angle , and with ease , easy set up , highly recommended this sharpener.

For people like me
So, I needed to sharpen three chainsaw blades. Looked on YouTube for ideas. Some were Dremel knock offs with a grinder guide, some were round files with a guide. This one intrigued me because it clamped to the chain guide, it had a guide rod, and the angle could be adjusted as needed. The grinder/motor is like a dremel in the way the bit attaches, but it is permanently attached to the guide system. The one thing I didn’t realize was the power cord is wired to hook up to the posts of a 12v battery with no way to plug it into a wall socket. I’m guessing this was done do you could take the sharpener with you to a remote area and use your vehicle battery to run it. I just happen to have a trolling battery sitting around the garage, so I used that. Something to be aware of.It was the most expensive of the choices, but looked to be the least frustrating to use, which is my most important consideration. I bought it and quickly realized it was more complicated than it first looked. The instructions were not very helpful as I felt I needed an engineering degree to make sense of them. A few frustrating minutes later, I got back on YouTube to watch a tutorial made by the company. That helped immensely. After getting it setup correctly on my chainsaw, it was then a matter of practicing with it until I became comfortable using it. I was then able to sharpen all three blades and bring them back to their original sharpness. So, would I recommend it? Yes, I would. Once I got past the learning curve, it was a fast and accurate way to sharpen the blades.

The best one to buy
I use this when the hand file won't cut as much as I need to. I cut fire wood on the ground so is hit rocks occasionally. This sharpener is great for a chipped tooth. Does get hot like the chop saw type sharpener. Works with 12v so you can sharpen in the woods with your utv battery or truck battery
