5.11 Tactical Unisex TDU Belt, 1.5 Inches Wide, Durable Nylon, Style 59551

My dog chewed up a different belt of mine (not this one) so I went to my past orders to find it and order it again. When I searched for belts, a list of all the ones I’ve ordered off Amazon popped up and I noticed how old this one now is. This was the first belt I ever ordered off here in 2014! I’ve had it for 11 years now and it’s still holding up to all the fieldwork I do (Florida biologist). I work outside 8+ hours a day. Can’t argue with results.

I purchased this belt 12 years ago when I began working at a site where I needed to pass through a metal detector to reduce having to take off a belt. I’ve used this daily at work for the last 12 years and it still looks brand new. Full disclaimer recently my disgruntled puppy was able to chew a few divots out of the edge of the belt which has caused me to order another which is what triggered the review. This belt is versatile enough to wear on the golf course, mountain (ski pants) or a great option when just a comfortable belt is needed (work for me). I have not owned another piece of clothing or accessory that has been used as much as this, so the $17.75 investment in 2012 has paid off, also very surprised that through hyper inflation and price increases it seems to have only increased at the previous rate inflation 2.3% ($17.75 - 2012, $22 - 2024) I’d buy another 2 but honestly I know the one I purchase again will never wear out unless something out of the ordinary happens.

I like the belt, gave it 4 stars because it's a little difficult for me to fasten and adjust. I like the narrower width of the belt, it fits all my pants, going thru the belt loops with ease. Looking forward to wearing the all plastic buckle belt through airport security.

Still using the same belt

During 30 years of LE I used and owned many 5.11 products. I never had this particular belt, but thought it would work well for a concealed carry belt. The belt itself is flimsy, but ok for a small to medium weapon support. The buckle is plastic. That part I wanted, so that it wasn't magnetic. I expected the buckle to sit flatter against my waist, but by design, it Protrudes. That is probably also the cause of the belt occasionally loosening up. I didn't want to have to spend twice the money on a belt for BDU style pants, but I may have to, just to get one that functions better.

This belt ROCKS! I got this for work and it just kills any other belt! And no metal!
