The ship is more than I had hoped for - and this based upon other 5 Star ratings. It arrived in perfect condition due to the excellent packaging. A wood crate surrounded by styrofoam and cardboard is the best shipping parcel I've ever received - and I have received hundreds.The certificate of authenticity estimates 190 hours of build time. For me, that would have been 3-4 times that number. Plank on frame construction is beyond my abilities. The price made it a real deal because I would have been working for less than a $1 / hr, and the workmanship would be nowhere what Francisco, the master builder, achieved.The San Felipe now sits proudly on a shelf next to the framed certificate of authenticity and completes the home office upgrade I started last year. Simply stunning in both detail and craftsmanship

This ship is gorgeous! There is so much intricate detail it is amazing. It was worth every penny just to see the look on my son's face when he opened the large box and saw what it was. The only downside was the box it was shipped in basically gave away what was inside. Luckily, he had just left the house before it arrived. It really is beautiful!

When this ship model first arrived the box took some damage. A few pretty deep gashes. I could see inside past the foam. I was like Great, now this 500 dollar model is going to be damaged and it's probably going to be hell trying to return it.But I opened the box and to my surprise they shipped it in a sturdy wooden cage with foam padding between the cage and the model so keep it from getting damaged. Thank you modern handcrafts.

Amazingly ornate and detailed!This is my fourth model ship. I have the 37" version of the Sovereign of the Seas which is of course larger than this version of the San Felipe (same size exists for this one too), yet with both of them you truly can sit and examine them for long periods of time, wondering at the mind-blowing craftsmanship.I will place this on a display table along with a beautiful clock I recently purchased soon for all to see!

I ordered the medium San Filipe ship for my husband on Saturday, December 26 and it arrived on Wednesday, December 30. It was packaged in a wooden crate inside 2 boxes. Every part of the ship was in tact when it arrived. Nothing was broken. I watched the UPS guy, on our ring doorbell, plop it down on our concrete driveway. Even though it has “fragile” stamped on the box, I’m pretty sure no one paid much attention to that in transit and delivery. Old Modern Handcrafts packaged this ship with love and care. It looks absolutely beautiful on our fireplace mantel and will be a conversation piece for years to come! Most importantly, my husband loves it!

I was surprised. Very pleasantly surprised when I opened up the package and saw this. it is real craftsmanship, nothing at all like the cheap, imported plastic garbage that one sees in products everywhere these days. This model is beautiful. The details are amazing. The pictures don't do it justice. This will be a heirloom piece in my family. It is expensive, but if you're thinking about getting it, do it. Its going to look very, very nice in your space.

I am almost completely satisfied, but not totally. The ship packing was unbelievable- it could have been dropped from a plane and survive undamaged! Be sure to read the instructions. I didn’t. The only complaint I have is the product description says “built from scratch” and that it is “plank on frame” construction. This is not accurate. The lower hull is a high quality polished plastic with a wood plank imprint. This is too expensive to not be fully wooden as described!

You can't go wrong with the this ship for its craftsmanship. It was packaged very securely and arrived quickly. The "medium" size is still very large and is better for apartments or anyone without a whole dedicated space for it, I've seen the large 37" and it starts presenting displaying challenges being that big. For ~$600 absolutely no complaints on my end.
