I am a retired teacher and would have so appreciated this book before I set out in the classroom. I would have liked to read it before having kids of my own as well. There are so many practical ideas in here on dealing with challenging children, and frankly all children that I think every parent could benefit by reading this. The chapters are very well laid out and the ideas are explained in a very readable style.

This is hands down the best book I have read on parenting kids with complex issues ! It was a game changer for me and my family.It’s the first book that really conveys what so many other “experts” miss when helping parents understand themselves and their children.My favorite line in the book is when Elaine mentions most parents are looking for peace and solutions but think they need solutions first before finding peace and it’s actually the other way around. We need to find a way to accept our kids where they are at before we can find solutions to challenging behaviour.Elaine walks the talk and I subsequently signed upfor Sanity school which she founded as part of Impact Parents.For parents who are willing to forgo the quick fix and be willing to reflect on themselves I can attest to a pot of gold at the end of what some days may feel like very cloudy stormy weather !Gracias Elaine - only wish this book cameour years ago !
