Beautiful and Functional - Very Nice!
Bought these for a special classical I picked up some years ago. I'm guessing it was made in the late 70's or 80's. When it was new it was a midrange to not that expensive guitar, but it s one of those very rare guitars that just has the "sound." It has a few cracks where the previous owner treated it poorly, but I love the tone, so it is my go to for classical. When you tune it up the harmonics are just stunning. The tuners it came with were junk, but serviceable until recently. The plastic knobs just started cracking and one fell to pieces from age not long ago. These fit the original spacing well, though a couple of the screws were in different places. It wasn't a problem at all and they are solid once installed. Just make sure you have a screwdriver that really fits the screws if you have to go into new wood. And whatever you do, don't repair it in a place where if you drop the screws you will have trouble finding them - they are very small. - normal for this, but still easy to lose. Had to put a broken toothpick in a couple of the original holes as they were shot. I've gradually been improving this guitar over the past few years and this is the last thing it needed to be really as beautiful as it sounds. Thanks for making a quality product at a reasonable price. I can play it again and that is what really counts. The tuners are smooth and precise. Huge improvement over the originals! Very nice finish. I should have replaced the old ones a long time ago...

Excellent tuners, easily worth 2-3x the price
I am classically trained, having studied in college with Aaron Shearer, extended masterclasses with Manuel Barrueco, David Russell, Jason Vieaux. I’ve owned concert level classical guitars with Gilbert tuners, Gotoh, Schaller and more. These tuners will not rival Gilberts, but they’re also like 1/10th the cost. For the money ($40), I wasn’t expecting much really, and wanted something cheap to replace the old machines on my guitar from college. But man, these suckers are sturdy and the gear ratio and tuning is smooth and solid. I had to replace the tuners on my concert classical last year (premium Gotohs) and I hate to say it but these are pretty comparable. I actually prefer the knobs on this set. If the old screw holes don’t line up with these, simply fill them in with toothpicks/wood glue and tap a new hole for the new plate.

where the posts turn is much more substantial than the common stamped and formed sheet metal
These tuning machines are very nice they turn smoothly the metal looks beautiful. The knobs look a little “plasticy”, but they feel stong, not brittle at all. If you look closely you can see that where the posts turn is much more substantial than the common stamped and formed sheet metal that I see even on the Córdoba C5. I would purchase these again. I believe them to be of great value for the price. They are nicer than the cheap guitar I installed them on (Lucinda 510).Thoughts on instillation:To in stall is was necessary for me to sand out the roller holes a little bit toward the inside of the top and bottom holes. When I in inserted them the guitar was forcing the top and bottom rollers to angle away from center. It didn’t take much sanding to remedy this. The screw holes were off by about half a hole each. I used a small drill bit held in my fingers to clear the old threads in the wood. Then I sanded tooth picks to fit in the holes and glued them in place. I carefully cut and sanded them flush to the head stock. Then in seated tuners and marked new holes. I used a drill bit the size of the shaft of the screw less the threads to drill new holes. Once finished none if the old holes were visible. You can’t tell their was any modification made . It was a fun project they look and work great!

Best Price / Performance Ratio for Quality Tuning Heads
After some hours searching the web, these looked like a good color combination and gear ratio to replace the cheap tuners that came on my new Yamaha SLG200N. I guess Yamaha had to scrimp somewhere in order to keep the same price while upgrading the electronics. When the tuners arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at their considerable heft, and happy with the subdued high-end looking patina and engraving. Before installing them, I thought that the only missing thing that might make them perfect, would be the addition of ball bearing rollers such as on Sloane tuners, but that would have quadrupled the price, which would have been half the price of the guitar. With some lingering doubts due to the relatively low price, I replaced the Yammy's original, flimsy and gaudy looking head tuners, and then gave just a squirt of WD-40 in the peg holes and on the gears. I don't think ball bearings would have made any difference and could make these turn any smoother. Those beautiful black knobs are butter smooth in turning, yet firmly hold their position, and the high gear ratio makes fine tuning easier than the majority of tuning heads. These tuning heads are a significant upgrade to my guitar, both in looks and performance, and at a very reasonable price. After comparing them to some tuners sold at high-end shops here in Tokyo, I think this was my wisest choice. I highly recommend them over some name-brand tuners that are many times the price. A very happy customer here!

Quality Product
The gears work smoothly. The product is well made. The holes, however, the screw holes did not align properly on my Fender guitar.

Nice looking and stays in tune!
My 20+ year old Takamine Classical Guitar wasn’t staying in tune. These fit great. All the screw holes lines up except the top one, but with a small pilot hole the new screw went in fine. I did change the plastic pegs as I had a set from an old Guild guitar but saved the black ones. It’s nice that they are replaceable. This was a quick fix and nice upgrade.
