Beyond the Magic Bullet: The Anti-Cancer Cocktail

Dr. Raymond Chang is an extremely well versed oncologist in both Eastern and Western medicine. His approach is very intuitive to each patient’s needs. The “magic bullet” addresses the need for a multi faceted approach to treatments instead of the usual western medicine’s linear approach that many times tears down the physical body.Doctors are not using eastern medicine infused into the patients program for healing and strengthening the body!

I've done at least 100 hours of research on complimentary alternative medicine for cancer (supplements, diet, etc). Since this was so cheap (via Kindle) and the author's background was impressive I paid the $4.99. 80% of the book I already knew from my own research. It's main value is as a summary encyclopedia of off label and supplement use. The problem is it would have been better to include actual recommended cocktail recipes for each cancer type with the caveat that you need to run it by your Oncologist or Integrative Medicine expert to make sure you aren't taking things that are conflicting with each other in their efficacy or exacerbating side effects or minimizing the effects of a conventional treatment you are undergoing. I suspect that's why he didn't provide recipes with a disclaimer.The book is fairly old now too. So it doesn't include information based on the latest research.It's a good jump start book for those interested in applying integrative/alternative/complimentary medicine modalities to their cancer prevention strategy.

Fans of "doctoring yourself" will love this book. Raymond Chang lists many approaches to beat cancer besides the obvious conventional burn/poison methods, & his writing style is conversational & easy to read. He advocates combining different therapies to get the most bang for your buck, & it's refreshing to read an MD suggest Eastern dietary therapies.

I bought this because I have a close family member with cancer. It is fine for someone that is undergoing conventional treatment, but my relative is not interested in conventional treatment so it was not useful for her.

this books has many great ideas for cancer patients. It's broken down into catagories for your specific needs. Found it to be very helpful.

This book had a lot of alternative/complementary ideas for beating cancer. I would recommend it for someone starting out on their cancer journey. Many of the ideas were things that I had heard of before but it is nice to have information all in one place.
