Nice gadget with limited usage
I purchased 4 years ago a Power8 workstation built by Ayce. The tools are OK, except the drill-press which is useless if you need precision in your work. The price tag of $1399 is high and I would have never payed so much money for a gadget. Myself I purchased it in Switzerland in a hardware store for CHF 250 which means 260 US Dollars. For the proce tag of 260 USD it is a very nice to have tool set.Recently I built some cabinets to a friend of mine and I needed to trim a couple of melamine boards. I used the Power8 as a table-saw, because it was easy to transport. It did a fair job, trimmed to the right width. The cut was not very clean but acceptable for what I needed (some small parts of the melamine were chiped off, but the cut itself was clean at 90 degrees). The fence is good but takes some time to adjust it at the correct width, especially one must pay attention to make sure it is parallel to the blade. Even the flimsy cross-cutting guide can be used at some extent.I never used it as a hand circular saw, because I largely prefer the Makita plunge-saw.As a hand-held drill it makes a decent job. More bulky as a Bosch, but can do the job if you forgot your good quality drill. The scroll saw is not very useful. But as a hand-held jig-saw it is a good quality tool.I did not experience problems with the battery. Still works fine and I use it mainly battery-powered.Conclusion: as a hobby cabinet maker it can be useful if you need to trim something while you are not in your shop. Wuold I pay $1399 for it? NO WAY! Maximum 300 Dollars would be a fair price!
