We should have done this 3 years ago
We had hazy floors for three years since we moved in, and we thought we would have to replace them or hire professionals with specialized equipment. However, I followed the instructions and, with a normal amount of scrubbing, the haze was completely gone. We now have new floors.

It does work!
Inherited 20 year old cherry hardwood floors in our move. Many layers of wax & abuse & more wax. Tried PH balanced cleaners & enzyme cleaners with little improvement. Decided to try this in a small area. Was worried about removing the finish. It only removed what I wanted-the wax buildup. Floors look amazing! My advice. Take your time, let the cleaner sit & do a lot of the work for you. It’s not that hard, just time consuming.

I'm satisfied with the end results
Everyone's experience with this product will probably be a little different based on your situation, and expectations.I had to remove a single application of polish, that was applied to my pre-finished engineered hardwood floor by a relative that thought she was being helpful. The polish was already heavily worn (it was applied several years ago), and looked terrible. The removal was time consuming, and a lot of work, but I was successful in removing the polish/wax without damaging the original floor finish.I used this product, along with a Oreck Orbiter Floor Machine with a green pad, to strip the polish from the floor, then used paper towels to remove it (quickly before it dries back in), and finally cleaned the floor with Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner and the same Oreck Orbiter with a lamb's wool bonnet pad. The floor looks great, and has been resorted to its original finish.I would advise that you consider investing in a floor machine (purchase or rental). It's still going to be a lot of work, but it will be more work without it. Also, the machine will scrub much better and faster than anyone can do by hand. Here's some tips:1... Work in small sections, no larger than about 4' X 4' (smaller if you don't have a floor machine).2... Apply the Bona Polish Remover directly to the floor and spread it out. Let it stand and work for a few minutes but don't let it dry.3... Scrub the floor with a semi abrasive pad (I used a floor machine with a green pad). Test in a small area, like under a piece of furniture, to ensure the pad won't damage the original floor finish.4... Use paper towels (have plenty available, I went through a few rolls), and remove the polish quickly before it dries again.5... Use Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner to clean the floor. I used it with the floor machine and a polishing bonnet, and it worked much better than a hand mop.6... Have a second set of eyes to help you look for remnants of polish that may have been missed, and go back and spot clean those areas (repeat the process). Of course it will be less likely that you miss spots if you work small areas at a time.I can't tell you if the product worked as good, better, or worse, than other options reviewers have discussed (mineral spirits, Windex with Ammonia, etc...), but it did get the job done without any noticeable damage to my original floor finish. Also, there were no harsh odors etc...

GREAT PRODUCT !! WORKS WONDERFUL
OK, I was stupid and used floor shine on our hardwood floors. After years, my floors looked pretty dingy so I tried hot water and a bit of soap to start taking off the polish. What a pain and I didnt like putting water on wood floors. After research , we found this on Amazon. I thought, why not try. It works amazing !!!!!!!!!Follow the directions, give it 10-15 minutes to start working. It slides off slick as snot ! I cant give it more than 5 stars or I would give it a 10! It did not harm the original finish and now my floors are shiny and clean again !!! We bought 2 more bottles to finish the rest of the wood floors. Don't hestitate, get it now !

Beware!!
This product ruined my cherry wood floor requiring a professional to remove 1 sprayed-on polish application! The refinish estimate is in the thousands! Bona Floor Cleaner has done a good job for 6.5 years, the life of this floor.

It works but there are other products I found that work better and faster
This product works if you follow the instructions. Working in such a small area and waiting up to 10 minutes for each application was so drawn out and I have about 1500 square feet to cover!I did SO much research to make sure I didn't ruin my beautiful floors. I have no idea what products the previous owners applied, but it definitely appeared to be layers of wax and it really was looking dingy and streaky. I used 1 bottle of Bona polish remover and it worked, but the gummy mess and time it took to clean such a small area was going to take me forever.Regardless, I ordered 4 more bottles of Bona polish remover (which I will return now) as I continued to research other possible solutions. I was determined. I found a product called the Dissolver and it works perfectly. You have to move much faster since the product can't be on the floor more than a minute.Once I found my application method - 1:5 parts in a spray bottle, spray, timer starts, use a light scrubber, then clean damp microfiber towel to wipe off everything, rinse sponge and towel, then run a dry mop over to soak up moisture. It sounds like a lot but it goes very quick and this product literally eats up the wax and has it dissolve so you don't have the gummy mess only bluish liquid color on the sponge and towel (so rinse often).I was able to cover about 500 square feet in a little over an hour. Floors look amazing! It's a little shinier than the Bona polish remover left it, so I ended up going over the area I used Bona to make it look better. Bona polish remover works, BUT Dissolver is so much better and I barely tapped into the full gallon so it will last me such a long time! I encourage you to check out Dissolver to save yourself time, money, and your sanity!
