Good, All in One Battery tester
The first impression of this tester is really good, it comes well packaged in a nicely designed box, which feels good quality and looks the part too.On opening, I found it’s all in a very nice zip case which is also very good quality, and a very nice touch. It looks good in my roll cab. The case holds the tester well and keep it organised, and as an added bonus, comes with some extra rolls of paper for the printer. To use, it’s pretty self explanatory if I’m honest, it’s easy to navigate the menus and doesn’t take much figuring out. Just clamp it on and go. I love the fact that it’s backlit, I’ve had testers in the past which aren’t and they can be difficult to read in bad light.Things I like:- Packaging and Presentation- The storage case/bag- Feels like a good quality item in your hand- Easy to use, and seems to deliver accurate results when compared with other testers and my multi-meter- Backlit display- Good quality clamps, though they could be better as I’ll explain below.Things I dislike:- Battery clamps could go a step further if they were more needle nose, I find it difficult to squeeze them onto some terminals.- Printer paper tears off a little short and often gets stuck and crumples inside the unit. A trivial con really, but can be irritating. Can be overcome if your careful how you tear it off, but could be better to avoid this if the lid had more of an internal guide.Summary:A nice unit to have and to use, I’ll have it for a long time. I find it to be accurate enough, and it all stores away nicely in its bag when not in use. I’d recommend it if you have need to tear more than the odd battery. When the weather gets better and I’ve used it some more, I’ll endeavour to do a video showing it’s use and features in more depth.

Really good item. Worth the money.
Really accurate & saves time by diagnosing crank amps. Tells you basically if the voltage is good which you think is a good battery, but diagnoses that internals are knackered & cranking amps are shot & battery needs replacing.Good news if the battery crank amps are ok it will tell you so & will tell you you you just need to charge battery. Can check if alternator is charging battery also. Good little unit really clear & simple to use.

Odd result testing a brand new battery
Our 4 years old BMW Z4 main 12 volt battery was losing charge. The automatic stop/start when stationery function wasn't working, which is a symptom of low charge, a warning came up on the app to say the battery needed to be recharged, I fully recharged it with a smart charger. A week later there wasn't enough charge to turn over the engine. Even though it was capable of being recharged, it is clearly time to investigate and think about purchasing a new battery.Given the cost of replacement batteries (especially 'premium' brands - I was looking at £250 to £300 - it seemed sensible to run some tests to ensure the battery was a in need of teplacement. I looked at reviews online and decided to buy the TOPDON BT300P.The battery test result showed a state of health of 4%, so I purchased a S5 A13 Bosch AGM Car Battery 12V 95Ah Type 019. Online purchased and fitting the battery oneself proved to be quite a cost saving compared to having it done in a local garage or fitting shop - probably to the extend of paying at least half of the cost of the BT300P.The Bosch battery duly arrived and I ran a test using the BT300P, and not surprisingly, the results, shown in the first image, suggest that the battery is 100%, and capable of more Cold Cranking Amps than advertised. So far so good.Although the test stated the charge to be 100%, given I had no way of knowing if this was correct, and as it is much easier to charge a battery out of the car, I placed it on my smart charger. It proceeded to add more charge for 5 hours before automatically dropping down to trickle charging.I have just fitted the battery and rerun the tests - multiple times. The results are in the second image.According to the BT300P, the internal resistance has gone shooting up. The battery is only capable of a quarter of the Cold Cranking Amps it should be capable of delivering, the state of health is 5%, and it needs to be replaced!! Not what I expected at all, and this, of course, now makes me doubt any results the BT300P gives me.

A must have tool, brilliant bit of kit
Price is perfect , if anything undpriced. You can use it for troubleshooting a electrical issue on a car etc or to help keep notice of a home solar farm battery. This paired with the tornado 4000 is a great combo , you can see the state of health and repair if necessary.Glad I found the item , so easy to use.The photos show a battery before and after repair - you’d have no idea on the state of the battery with out this little device

Excellent, Handy little tester
Have had the tester a little while now ..Comes in a neatly packaged and compact carry case. Easy to store and transport around.Functionality is great, for example , used it on a Hyundai that was displaying a battery fault when the "Stop/Start" was activated. Car had been used for short Journeys.Tester said the battery was healthy but low on charge. Put a charger on it over night, problem solved on the vehicle. Also used it to check cranking and charging functionality, all easy to use.The menu for the battery type could be improved by making the descriptions for battery type clearer , or adding a better key to the instructions. I used google to check i had the correct setting. So minor issue.Overall very pleased with this purchase would recommend to others...
