Pico XL Translucent Teal - Hamster & Small Animal Home/Cage

I 100% recommend this cage for anyone who is getting a pet Hamster. I considered a few other cages but decided to go with this one and I am glad that I did. It comes with everything you need and isn't an eyesore in your house. The base detaches fully from the cage wire frame for easy cleaning. The openings all close tightly so the hamster can't get out. Also, the bar spacing between the wires is small so there is no way for the hamster to escape. This cage provides plenty of space for the hamster to roam and an area in the bottom to burrow. It is easy to assemble, take care when you clip everything together as to not break any clips.

Our last enclosure was colorful and fun with all sorts of tubes and stuff but the tubes were a pain to clean (and leaky if your hamster pees in them) so we wanted something more toned down this time. We weren't so sure about the two tone color (felt boring) but its actually pretty in person. Considerably bigger than the last one we had (but not so big its a chore to clean or too vast for our hamster) so the size gets two thumbs up! We like the multi-levels. Read varying opinions on the ramps being too steep but they work well for our hamster. Really like the sleep box at the top but wish the lid was transparent/translucent so we could see if he was in there without having to open it/disturb him. The water bottle is small but we just added our old bottle to the side so it really just serves to plug the hole at the top lol. The included wheel is ok but doesnt feel super sturdy (the way it attaches to the cage feels a little flimsy) so we ultimately put our old disc wheel in there (and because its plenty big we could do that!). We left the included wheel attached though because our hamster likes to burrow/sleep under it. All of those are just minor complaints though and overall we really like it! Our two biggest concerns are the sturdiness of the bars and the door mechanisms. The bars dont seem as sturdy as the last cage we had (seem like they could easily be pried apart/squeezed through) but i dont see any “my hamster escaped!!” reviews so i guess theyre fine as long as benny (our hamster) doesnt develop superhamster strength. The door mechanisms are by far the biggest complaint. Our last cage had spring loaded latches which were SO MUCH easier and more convenient to open/close!!! The design of the door latches is really bad and needs a revamp.But overall we are very happy with it and if we had the purchase to do over again we would pick this enclosure! (Even over an aquarium - which is what the associate at the pet store suggested)

I have a very large Syrian teddy bear hamster named Big Ed. This cage is just right for him. I love that it doesn’t take up a large amount of table space but gives him plenty of places to go and things to do. He’s a very lazy hamster - gotta love him. One of the ramps broke when assembling but not the end of the world. Still works great. He does like to go into the loft section and get yogurt treats. Other than that, he lives in his igloo on the bottom. Cage is easy to clean. Happy with my purchase.

We are new to the hamster world so we put a lot of time into reading reviews and researching. We are retirees that wanted a pet we didn’t have to walk or run around with and decided this was a good pet to have. Some of the cages seemed ridiculously huge some ridiculously small. This seemed a good size for a young hamster. Putting it together took forever and the directions were useless. One of the pieces that held on to the bar snapped and everything else was a little wobbly. We jury rigged the broken ledge to stay and reached out to the company for a replacement part (as requested) and heard nothing then got directed to a contact in the US for a response. During that time the water bottle leaked, the hamster jumped more than once and hates using the platforms because she slides on them. The final straw was the front door of the cage, we have to struggle to open it and if we are trying to change food and clean up, we have to literally push the cage hard to open it. Too much work, very flimsy and hard to clean and work with. Still never heard from company so I would pass, we ordered a different brand with 2 levels and much larger so we can easily interact with our hamster and she can run around and play.

So far this looks ok, but the blue plastic mezzanines are somewhat thin plastic.. one came broken, and when trying to assemble the cage the lower mezzanine's attachment to the ramp readily broke. I really don't know how long this will last, and would appreciate knowing how to get replacement parts for those that are broken. Also, the water bottle on top is flimsy plastic. I have a better bottle, made of glass, that can be connected to any cage, but then I am stuck with an actual hole on top! I had hoped this would be optional and there would be a cover for that hole in case we don't use the bottle that comes with this set.Update: I contacted the company and they readily sent me replacement parts for all the mezzanines, as well as some toys for my hamster at no charge. Thank you! Unfortunately, they don't make a cover for the top hole so we are still stuck with an empty bottle there (the bottle comes down too low for our hamster to be able to drink from it anyway, so I use another bottle for drinking).Other than that, our hamster loves the cage and makes his home in the nest upstairs. I also like that you can install a larger wheel (we have one of the large silent ones) on the side wall, and that it is easy to replace the bedding (I disassemble the bottom of the cage in seconds, and put the top on the floor so the hamster is still inside and cannot escape; throw old bedding out and put new in; you are done!) and to clean the "nest" (it comes off easily). A great cage!Now with all the toys the company sent my hamster, I need an even bigger cage ;-)
