OsmoPolyx-Oil - 3051 Raw - .75 Liter

I wanted this school desk to appear like unaltered maple wood. (See before and after pictures.) I tried numerous other waxes and finishes only to find they all altered the wood whether darkening or changing its color. Not Osmo! I learned about Osmo from a professional woodworker I watch on Youtube. I used not quite half the can on this table and the cubby underneath it, but I did not apply it to the bottom of the tabletop as I had not removed the original finish from it. A second application is necessary.Pros: It is easy to apply, and the finish is easily the smoothest I have ever attained (I have done dozens, if not more projects). I used a four inch microfiber roller to apply. It is thicker than stain and therefore, stayed in the area I applied it. I can't say enough good about this product.Cons: It is expensive. Also, I put a little too much Osmo on one side of the top and did not realize it (first time user) which gave it a slightly white cloudy look, so it is best to avoid putting too much on the wood or it may appear white. (It can easily be "thinned" on a project by spreading it out on the wood.)

I heard about this online to preserve the color of ash. Worked as expected, but I applied the first couple boards too thick. A foam roller worked best for me, wiped off excess after about 10 min.The boards on the left are untreated, right are immediately after oiling, once dried they were almost impossible to tell which side we oiled. I used 3 cans on our ceilings (40x12 room and 7x20 room)I used a 4th can on all our red oak trimwork to lighten it a bit. It not noticeable, but it didn't yellow like a poly would. There is absolutely no sheen to this at all.

Use twice as less as you think. Otherwise, amazing wax finish. I was looking for a wax that wouldn’t change the shade of the wood and this worked perfectly. Really shows the depth of the grain.

Great stuff. I would advise you to watch a few YouTube videos before using because the directions on the can are a bit vague.The videos are definitely instructions. I highly recommended this product!

Love this stuff. Did a Douglas Fir floor with it in 2006 and it still looks great. Definitely apply with a buffer. Minimal odors and completely natural and non-toxic when dry. Love this stuff.

Great for white oak. I was struggling to get a natural looking finish with regular Osmo. This has a white pigment that prevents the grain from darkening so much.

It's a little pricey but you get want you pay for. Easy to apply and reapply if needed. The VOCs are tolerable and the finished is clean and natural.

Excellent on white oak, much more natural looking than the warmer appearance of polyx oil. Just depends on what you’re looking for.
