This muffler is hollow. Has Chambers, but no packing to deaden sound, or potential drone. I believe my expectation of how it was going to sound was unreasonable, and unrealistic. I installed this in place of a Thrush glass pack. Exhaust tone changed to a deeper, kinda hollow sound, but had drone above idle, and now that I actually did some research it sounds as one would expect from the design. Every motor/application is different, and everyone has different preferences of what they want a car to sound like. I believe at minimum if catalytic converters are removed this muffler should be used in conjunction with some type of resonator also which is pretty common with factory vehicles. Construction wise it's pretty solid. Easy to weld, and install. Also great customer service that went above and beyond to rectify my complaint, and took full accountability without questioning what I said. Before I removed muffler to inspect I claimed the sound had to be from inside baffle walls coming apart. They immediately sent full refund,said don't send it back, and tried to send me a new one. After I found out there's nothing wrong with it other than my misuse they're still trying to send me another new one along with the refund. I can't accept a new one. It's not right. So anyway install with the resonator if you remove all the other sound deadening exhaust parts. As far as the paint. It's a muffler. I don't care what the outer coating is. If you're not paying for a stainless steel muffler, and you're buying a mild steel muffler for $45,nothing is going to stand up to the amount of heat The exhaust system endures.

These are well built and sound great. I give 4 stars instead of 5 solely because they are LOUD. I was really hoping they would be a little tamer sounding, however if loud and aggressive is what you’re looking for, these are definitely that.

Helped my 2012 jeep wrangler have some sound without being obnoxiously loud, sounds good accelerating and idling. Highly recommend for the price.

Build good. But too loud.

9.9/10 for the price. It’s a little loud but that’s to be expected with 3” piping and no cats or resonator. Build quality is decent so far.
