Good filter, easy install
The EPINL30 filter has been my go-to choice for the past five years, and for good reason. It's incredibly easy to install, which is always a plus. More importantly, it consistently delivers clean water with a good taste, making a noticeable difference in the quality of my drinking water. The low price point also makes it an economical choice. While the packaging suggests a five-year lifespan, it's practically impossible to gauge the exact water usage through a fridge. Because of this, I opt for a monthly replacement schedule, ensuring I always have the freshest, best-tasting water possible. It's a reliable and affordable filter that truly performs.

Easy Peasy.
I do not normally write reviews but in this case I decided to do so as I bought the product even after reading many of the negative reviews on this water filter as it appeared most of them were due to operator error or the fact that how long a water filter lasts, in spite of the time specified by the manufacturer, very much depends on the local water quality. There is no getting around that. So here is my two cents. It was easy to install and there were no leaks even after connecting it, disconnecting it, and reconnecting it several times just to be sure. The provided brass compression fitting to PTF (Push to Fit) adapters at each end provide the flexibility to make the water connections by either using a standard 1/4" NPT (National Pipe Thread for those of you who do not know what that is) compression fitting or by following the provided instructions and removing the brass adapters via the built-in PTF feature. This is done by pushing in on the quick-disconnect collets at each end and pulling out the adapters, which I also did several times after reinstalling them and there were no leaks. This is a really good feature because even if one connects the filter using the 1/4" NPT compression option (a tried and true type of plumbing connection), which only requires two small wrenches, once it is connected after that, one can use the PTF connections to replace the filter and no tools are required. This feature will also allow one to use other PTF type water filters as many are made with this feature nowadays. The filter's 5-year life also makes it a cost effective purchase compared to others.Lastly, I had a question as to whether this filter would fit into the Lasco #37-2201 2-inch water filter bracket designed to fit more standard size water filters and sometimes sold with this filter because in the online photos this filter appears larger in diameter than most others and it is (approximately 3 inches in diameter). I called EcoPure and got through to a real live human in short order but the front-line customer service people did not have that specification available but thought it would fit. In spite of all of that; yes, it does fit because the diameter of the filter cannister at the “out” end is stepped down to two inches and if one looks carefully, this is visible in the online photos. Easy peasy.

Water filter for the fridge that came without
I ordered this to remove a flavor from ice cubes in my fridge. It seems to be doing something, but it did not change the flavor. Either it is something about this fridge, or the unit doesn't work. There were too many good reviews for me to believe that this filter doesn't work, so I'm not blaming it.Overall, it was easy to install. I just shut off the water to the fridge under the house and got to work. I had an old waterline kit at the house that I had never used, so I just grabbed some parts out of it and slid the tubes into each end of the filter. It fit tight and did not leak.

A year and a half later and my ice still tastes pure!
I installed the filter in the water line going to my refrigerator a year and a half ago. My wife and I were immediately impressed at how clean the water and ice from our fridge was after installing it compared to how it tasted before. The taste is still pure after a year and a half. The lifespan is said to be 5 years, but most water filters in our house never last anywhere near the manufacturer suggested lifespan, so I am honestly impressed with this filter. I've not noticed any change in the water pressure since installing the filter, which can be an issue with some filters. And I cannot complain about the price, considering most in-line filters that last only 3 to 6 months are around the same cost. Highly recommended!

A+ perfect ice!
UPDATE:I was able to go over 2 years on this filter ... we make lots of ice and drink a lot of cold water ... so I was satisfied with how long it lasted. Yesterday, I installed this exact same filter again ... SO EASY for a regular homeowner. Today I'm looking at crystal clear ice cubes and water that tastes great! Excellent product ... highly recommend ... AGAIN!(Original review)I bought a new fridge but didn't have filtered ice. I had already put a Brita water dispenser inside tge fridge but my nasty metallic tasting slightly discolored ice was ruining my Brita filtered water. Installing this was so easy ... 12 ft braided stainless line coming from my wall with shut off valve ... then going to the "in" side of this filter ... then the "out" side is connected to a small 1 ft braided stainless line and attached to the connector on the bottom of the fridge ... EASY! I threw away the first 3 rounds of ice ... after that my ice was CLEAR and tasted absolutely PERFECT. Truthfully, I'm impressed with the filter and my newfound novice plumbing skills! I use lots of ice and for under $30 I'll probably replace it once a year. Oh ... I mounted the filter vertically toward to the bottom and attached it to the back of the fridge with 3m stick on mounting brackets with zip ties.
