best edger out there
I've painted with Shur-Line edgers for years, and they work well with some attention paid to loading the paint pads properly, and keeping the rollers clean. If you rinse the pads they can be reused many times. My local hardware store doesn't carry them, and my well used pads were shot, so I added them to an order.

Works great, just takes a little practice
Some folks mentioned a measurements off a mm here or there, but I have not had that problem in the two I've ordered. Fit the Shur-Line edger fine. For additionally preciseness, I use a sharp scissors to trim the top bristles to an angle, this avoids them mashing against the wall and risking the top edge being slightly off. Additionally, I apply paint thickly to the wall with a foam brush and then use the edgers in a circular motion to move the paint to the edge and in a line. Applying excessive paint to the wall and spreading with the Shur-Line edger prevents overruns and paint collecting on the edges; versus applying directly to the edge pad or using a paint pan, which almost always results in far too much paint on the device. After a little practice with this method, it works much quicker than taping everything and manually cutting in with a brush.

Love this simple tool
I love these and it looks like there was a sale on them. I hope they aren't getting discontinued. This tool and the pads that they use have saved me so much time from cutting in when painting. I use the roller to go at the edges of baseboards, door trim and ceilings. You don't need to have too much paint on the pad, because you might get runs. Also when loading the pad with paint, take care that the rollers aren't touching the paint. Also, there were times that you might see the impression of the pad where you've just painted. I have a. friend who calls this "hat bands". Like when you wear a baseball cap, and have an impression on your head when you take it off. So what I do is use this pad first, and then lightly feather with a brush (in a 90 degree direction) while the paint is still wet. No hat bands then.

works great but expect some clean up
This does help to cut in on areas, but there is a lot of drippage from the sides. Tried using on the ceiling as well to cut in and would not work at all In some areas it does not quite reach to the edge especially if you have texture, and you have to go over it and then back to reach in all of the areas.

Works Universally
Purchased these when the local paint store was out of replacement pads for their brand of paint edger tool. They worked like a charm. I've used these on 2 different brands of paint edgers & they worked on both. Not to mention, these are sold for about 60% less than the paint store price!I had no issues with fibers being left behind, like some of the cheaper tools tend to do.
