I first bought Forever New for my own bras and underthings. It works great, keeps my delicate, expensive pieces in good condition far longer than standard detergent, and I love the delicate scent.But I needed something that would work equally well for my son's ballet things without the light, feminine scent I love with Forever New. Variance has fit the bill. His ballet wear is delicate, mostly synthetic material and it takes a beating. It's worn for 4-5 hours every day (obviously many pieces in rotation) and sweated on with the stink only a young man can produce. Variance pulls out stains, removes the odors, and keeps the fabric in good condition so the elastic doesn't wear out prematurely.One other reviewer noted she had experienced dye transfer. We did have this happen one time when new black tights were accidentally tossed into the wash for the first time with white shirts. The shirts took on a sickly greenish hue and had to be soaked in Oxyclean (which I would generally avoid, since it's so much harder on the fabrics). I have not found this to be an issue when we wash new black tights separately the first time and do a quick vinegar rinse. After that, we toss everything into the machine on "hand wash" with Variance and they come out clean and fresh.I'm back buying this stuff for the third or fourth time... Apparently while staying in the dorms at Summer Intensive this year, the other kids noticed that my son's detergent was working better than theirs, so he managed to go through an entire tub. That's quite a feat, since 16oz will usually give us ~40 loads of laundry.

It’s the best value for your money. It cleans, & it’s no scent. The quality is, great. It also didn’t arrive to me, leaking 😊

I’ve used it for handwashing and in a mesh sack on deliver in the machine. Works well both ways. My compression socks feel and smell clean and nearly feel brand new as far as the elasticity (I have large calvs so they stretch out a bit). It doesn’t take a lot of the detergent so a little goes a long way. Would/will buy again

My mother told me about "Forever New" many, many years ago and I've been using it in some form ever since. I began using it on my pantry hose (that tells you how old I am)! I believe "Variance" is their most recent product and it is formulated especially for compression garments. I use it for everything from my workout tanks and pants to Spanx and I love it. A little goes a long way (just a couple of tablespoons in an HE Washer on the "delicates" cycle). It cleans and freshens even the most stinky and sweaty workout apparel without breaking down the fibers of the fabric. My clothing continues to look and feel brand new and I truly believe that "Variance" extends the life of any fine washable. I wouldn't be without it!

Ate through my clothes like a boss. Basically, you're paying top dollar for oxyclean.... except without the safeguards oxyclean uses in order to prevent fabric/elastic disintegration. Don't waste your money. It didn't even rinse clean too well, either (and I have soft water @ 72ppm). I was looking for something to wash funky clothes and rinse clean with no residue, and after ruining a load of clothes with the forever new variance granular, I spent the extra coin and tried sport suds instead...And got clean (intact) clothes the first time around.

Forever New Variance cleans my lingerie better than anything I've ever tried, and I've tried it all! I wear white stick deodorant, and always have trouble with it getting imbedded in the fibers of the fabric. I've had to toss many pieces not because they were worn out, but because I could not get them clean. Variance does the job phenomenally and with minimal scrubbing on my part. I just put the garments to soak with Variance and hot water for at least an hour, preferably overnight. When it's done soaking I check to make sure it looks clean. If not I add a little more Variance to the spot and scrub it in with a medium bristle brush. I dump the whole thing into my washer and run it through the delicate cycle with no new detergent. My things come out fresh and clean every time!
