Would the adhesive backing work to secure a handgun in a vehicle without drilling screw holes?

The instructions say to never use without screws , just use the adhesive strip to locate the magnet then attach with screws

The title saids it hold up to 35lb, however the image only shows it hold a 25lb dumb bell. So is this 35lbs or 25lbs?

It'll hold a whole six pack, got a compartment you could put some tobacco in... I reckon it'll hold at least 19.3 lbs

Have a different magnet (2 pack) it keeps the gun ftom falling, but gun easily pivots/swivels on magnet. Will this stop that?
