Mom used these right out of the box. Easy to use with arthritic hands. She cut her toenails with little pressure on very thick toenails. Easily disposed of the nail clipping. They are easy to close and store away in the storage box that came with it.Mom says this product is worth considering for family members with Arthritis. They fit in the hands easily and cut through nails like a knife through butter. Did not have to readjust the clippers to clip the whole nail.

As a 68 year-old man, my toenails are getting thicker and harder to cut. I refuse to let them grow out and look awful. These toenail clippers are the thing to use because they have a wide opening to be able to cut thick toenails. I also use them on my fingernails.

I'm not quite sure how to review this item -- If you have thick nails, or nails that are "complicated", this clipper is incredibly sharp, and with its long handle, will cut through nails like butter -- very easy, no twisting, no discomfort, almost no effort at all.On the flip side, you'll want to be careful using it, because it will cut through flesh with just as much painless ease -- you may not notice you've also clipped a bit of skin until you see the blood. This is actually a testament to its sharpness, but also why you want to use it with care and make sure that all you've captured in it's jaws are nail. This is actually more of a user issue, and not a problem with the clipper itself. Just be aware.Because it's so sharp and good at what it does, it can sometimes leave behind sharp edges -- especially if you have brittle nails -- so it is a good idea to have a good quality nail file handy to smooth out edges or micro-shards it may leave behind.This may not be your day-to-day clipper, but if you struggle with the force required with regular clippers or nail scissors, this is worth having in the toolbox.

After grooming elder toenails with these? NEVER going back to the standard clippers! Human nails get as hard and thick as animal horn as we age, making it harder to groom them. Avoiding ingrown toenails by clipping across them in a straight line becomes harder too, unless you can situate the blades properly before clipping and can leverage the handle pressure to cut cleanly. The leverage of the handles reduces the pressure needed to cut cleanly. I don't know if these are podiatrist-grade clippers, but they sure up-level the whole process of grooming a Grampa's toenails. These are the sharpest and best clippers for your toenails that I have ever seen. I’ve been in the military for 22 years cutting my toes by being smothered in boots for 22 years. It’s kind of tough these clippers make it easy. They are real nice they open extremely wide. These clippers are not made for children. They made for grown people who know how to use them and pay attention to what they doing cause like I said in a very Well made and very sharp the best I ever own

First, they pop open too easily. Drop them in a drawer and they pop open. Second, no country or any markings on them, probably not German as Germans are proud of their work and mark things. They are very sharp, and work very well. I downgraded a 5 star for the closed-lock issue and ambiguous country of origin.

These clippers are not your grandmother's clippers. They are so much better than the others I have been using and I keep them in my purse all of the time. I would recommend these highly. Be careful though, they are sharp.
