Manage your expectations
My wife has taken up painting and wanted a place to put her work to review it and learn. We decided a metal board with magnets to hold pictures would do the job. Found this one (she preferred black) and liked that there were large sizes, it is thin, and lightweight. Additionally, it could be used as a wet erase board, though I don't think she'll use it for that. We bought the 3' X 4' version. I was pleased that the description said it did not require wall anchors to hang and found that to be correct. Supposedly the size we bought should only weigh about 12lbs , but it didn't even feel that heavy. I think the listing said the steel was 1/32" thickness which I thought would be about the thickness of a metal street sign, but those are probably closer to 1/16" because they are fairly stiff and don't flex much. At 1/32" and particularly in this larger size, there is considerable flex when handling the product. Because I knew it was thin and large and traveling from Pennsylvania to Seattle; I was concerned it would not make the trip undamaged. It was packaged well and the box did not show any signs of significant damage. When I got it out (more on that later); I notice that one corner had a small 1"-2" "soft"crease. It was not that big and seemed to be the only visible imperfection, so I got a couple blocks of wood with a soft cloth between the wood and the metal and after a few hammer taps was able to smooth it out more, but not completely eliminate it. I probably could have spent more time on it, but like I said it wasn't that big in the first place. When I went to hang it up; I wasn't focused on that corner of the board and ended up putting the creased corner at the top. When the rooms overhead light was on; it became quite noticeable, so I flipped it around and put that corner on the bottom where it would be less noticeable. However, when I did that and stepped back to look at it- that's when I noticed a small 2"-3" "wave" at the edge on the right side about 2/3 from the bottom. Again, not a big deal; but it's there. This is a lot of "going on" about two Very minor issues; but it's why I titled this review "Manage your expectations". This is expensive at over $300 for this size, and while we all want the product to show up in perfect condition; there are limitations on trying to make that happen. I can see the effort the company took to make sure it arrived here as it left there. The box itself is reasonably heavy cardboard and inside it is reinforced with very heavy cardboard "L" to protect the edges. To keep the product from shifting around and stressing the edges or corners; the had an extremely sticky 8" X 12" double side tape that held the center area of the board to one face of the cardboard box. The box itself is about 1" thick. To fill that gap they added soft packaging paper. In spite of their admirable efforts, it still didn't get here completely unscathed. Let me be clear. I don't think the minor imperfections warrant return or replacement. It's just a relatively fragile thing that has to travel a long distance being handled by multiple people and companies. Over all I'm pleased with the purchase. Yes it's expensive, but it's made in the USA, it looks good and my wife is happy with it. In time I'll forget how much we paid. Here is my caution to buyers. If you're getting the larger sizes and it HAS to be perfect- you may need a little luck on your side or be willing to get a replacement which I'm confident this company will gladly do. Also; when your unpacking it-as I stated; the doubled sided tape they use to keep it from shifting in the box is extremely strong and you have to work the product loose from it very slowly and very carefully or you'll risk creating a crease in your board because of the metal flexing. To the company: the screws you supply are wood screws and I suspect that the majority of buyers are installing on drywall where drywall screws would be a better choice although you would not want the "fluted" heads. Not sure if they make flat head drywall screws. Anyway, yours worked good enough so I didn't go looking for different ones.

Flimsy board, terrible packaging
I wish I had read the negative reviews before I bought this. Although the stainless steel finish on it is nice, the board is very flimsy. The packaging was major overkill. It came in a huge box and was attached to a piece of cardboard with a sheet of strong adhesive, and no instructions on how to remove it. We could not get it off the cardboard sheet without putting minor creases in it. It would have cost $109 to return the $99 board so we just kept it and will try to work on the creases. Very disappointing.Update: DLDirect contacted me about the problems we had with the packaging and damage to the board. They refunded my purchase and offered a new board. This response raises my rating to five stars for great customer service.

Great Office Message Board
I needed a message board for the office. I read the reviews, some positive some negative. I decided to purchase it because there were more positive reviews. It arrived on time and was packaged well. It is thin and light-weight so it took two of us to handle it because we didn't want to bend and damage it. It was easy to hang, however, we didn't use the adhesive or magnets that came with it. That was some of the complaints in the reviews. The magnetics weren't strong enough. We used gorilla double sided tape to hang it and we purchased colorful magnets that are very strong. Since it's stainless steal, fingerprints and smudges show up but I used alcohol pads to remove them and it looks great. You could fit about 6 8 1/2 x 11 pieces of paper on it and have room in between with no problem. Overall, we're very pleased with the board. I recommend it, however, be mindful of the two issues that I've identified.

Perfect for Magnet Collectors
This magnet board was the perfect solution to our magnet collection. It was almost the perfect size to place on the side of our refrigerator, but we did have to slim down about an inch- pretty easy to do as it is a thin board (we used metal shears). We gets lots of compliments from friends as the magnets look better on the board than on our fridge. My only complaint is that paying $50 for delivery- on top of the price of the board was a bit steep, but delivery was fast. Overall- it is a great solution for our magnets, looks good, was relatively easy to put up, and the price is comprable to similar items.

Works for what I need, stains like crazy
I purchased this board back in 2023, and now—in August 2025—I’m ready to share my thoughts!I use it daily in my office lobby to post our monthly calendar, staff whereabouts, campus announcements, and a fun trivia section. It was professionally installed above our printer, so I can’t speak to the installation process myself, but it’s securely in place and looks great.About four months in, I noticed the surface starting to feel gritty when writing. I began with wet-erase markers, then switched to chalk markers to reduce the “ghosting” effect, but over time, the issue worsened. Now, two years later, the ghosting is very noticeable, the gritty feel covers the entire board, and even chalk markers leave stains. That said, the magnetic strength is still excellent, and my washi-tape calendar lines are holding up perfectly. Overall, it’s been a useful board, but the surface wear has reached a point where I’m considering a replacement.
