Done looking
I have been searching for a sound that I remember from the 70s. Yeah, I'm old....It started with pre-amps, which lead to cartridges (MC and MM) and then, speakers. I have an OK setup, Fluance 85 table, Parasound Pre and a new Marantz receiver (thank you lightning strike). Finally, my speaker quest. Started with Polk T50 three ways which sounded pretty good at the time but, with the upgraded system, just wasn't hearing the joy (this was when the cartridge rabbit hole opened). Having been in the audio industry, I had always kept an eye on Wharfdale speakers and bought a pair of diamond 200 bookshelf speakers and bi-amped them. Pretty good but, still not the emotional response I was craving. Then, I decided to try a pair of KLH Kendall speakers and hovered over "Buy Now" 10 times or so but, was afraid that I would regret the price if they weren't the "ones". Being an Audio Advice customer, I would watch and read about speaker offerings in their monthly catalogue and the HECO speakers were very intriguing. Still, was nervous about the mounting pile of speakers that I was accumulating to the dismay of my wife. However, Primeday convinced me to pull the trigger on the HECO 700s for a few reasons....In the 70s, all of the killer speakers had paper cones, like the HECOs....I have heard and sold tons of modern speakers made of Kevlar, aluminum and various type of unobtainium...great speakers all...dull sound for me. The specs were next.....crossover points, excellent sensitivity, cabinet construction, well reviewed tweeter, mid range and dual woofers and bi-ampable.They were very easy to put together so I had them up and running in no time. This is the point were most geezers will say they put Steely Dan's "AJA" on but, even tho I love that LP, I started with the latest version of the Beach Boys "Surf Up". As soon as "Feel Flows" began, I knew that I had made the right decision. No break in yet,no system tweeking...I knew. I am currently running an AT 95 shibata cart. Next, I put on a pristine original copy of Dave Brubeck's greatest hits....stunning. My room is about 20 x 30 with 8' ceiling. The speakers are, approximately, 7' apart and about 15" from the wall. Being ported out the back, I get a very pleasant bass response and removed my subwoofer from the system.So....here I am a couple of months later. Cart and speakers well broken in, TT set up as close to perfect as it gets and waking up every morning trying to decide which LP I want to drink my coffee to.IF you are looking for a killer pair of three way floor speakers with outstanding detail, gorgeous looks and unbelievable value, these speakers punch WAY above their weight.....

Top Notch Sound Quality And Value
I purchased these to replace my older Klipsch RF25 towers. I'd used them for years and felt it was time for an upgrade. In my research, I kept seeing these pop up and when they went on sale, I bit the bullet and bought them. Absolutely no regrets with this purchase. They sound much more natural and controlled than the Klipsch and get plenty loud. I use them strictly for 2 channel stereo listening in my music room and couldn't be happier. Highs are smooth if a little rolled off, mids are present but not overly forward and the bass is tight and full, never boomy. The finish on these is great and looks like it costs more than it does. You can spend twice as much and not get a better set of speakers. One thing to keep in mind is these guys like power. I paired them with several amps and if you really want to get the best out of them feed them a solid 100 watts rms. They are sensitive enough that they can be powered with much less (they sound great on my 10 watt tube amp) but they become more dynamic as the wattage goes up.

Can't beat a good tower speaker...
I like my music, but wouldn't consider myself an audiophile. Rating these as the average home user, I'd say these are high quality for the price point. Following the newer design of tall and skinny, they put out some good bass, but not as good as a pair of tall and fat speakers with 12" woofers that I had in the 80's / 90's, which unfortunately are no longer in my possession. Highs sound good to me. Have a Sony stereo receiver, only had to pump the bass and treble up halfway to accommodate my listening preference. They also seem to take the receiver's 100 watts of power adequately. I did notice some sound distortion on the first evening which had me worried, but it seems that has dissipated with use. Most speakers do need a break-in period. I purchased the lower cost white finish. From a distance, you can't tell that the side laminate isn't real wood, but it becomes apparent as you get close up. No product damage during shipping, although all the Styrofoam inserts were pretty much destroyed and would be useless for another trip. Because I can't rate half-stars, I would realistically give these more of a 4.5 due to "my" expectations of an adequate bass level, but they are far better than any set I have found yet, whether that be the various bookshelf or Polk towers I still have sitting around. And most people have subwoofers, so that point may be mute. Anyways, I'm a satisfied customer for once.

Impressive value
Have been part of my system for about 2 months now. After break-in the soundstage really opened up. Base is very good. Running with a 130 wpc Rotel amp. They sound good at both low and high volume. Very happy with this purchase.

Nice speakers, be on the lookout for amazon selling used as new
I felt the speakers were great. They had excellent reproduction on all levels. The bass was strong (but did need a sub for movies), the mid range was clean and clear. While the highs may have been a little bright for my ear. The imaging left to right is great, vertically the stage goes up and down a few feet. But I am sure I would get used to them if I had kept them. You see, Amazon shipped me 2 speakers that had already been returned to amazon. And they were sold as new. I first noticed the boxes had spots were a label was cut off, then upon opening my new speakers I found RMA bar codes from the previous customer. The speakers were in okay condition so I tested them out. But it bothered me greatly that I was paying for a new product only to receive a used product. So they went back for a refund.Overall appearance; I wasn’t sure about the white but I actually really liked it even though nothing else in my theater is white.

Excellent sound, quality build, and a sharp look.
The speaker quality relative to the price is hard to beat.

Incredible Sounding Tower Speakers
I’ve just had these speakers for a day and they sound incredible. What I noticed the most in the sound is the clearness and the detail in the vocal region. I’ve heard speakers that cost over $2,000 not reach this sound. These are well designed German engineered speakers.
