It works extremely well. It is easy to use once you take the time to follow the directions and get guidance on when and how to use PROPERLY by a QUALIFIED dog trainer. It is a tool to teach the dog a new language for things that he already knows. It is not a tool for punishment but COMMUNICATION. Please use WISELY and SPARINGLY!

Trusted Brand, dependable/reliable
If you're looking for an ecollar to train your dog, you won't be disappointed with this brand. We made the mistake of buying a cheaper version, and very quickly learned why the "good/trusted brands" were so much more expensive. Save yourself the time and headache, just purchase this one. It's has gentle (not sharp) stimulation, reliable and effective. Remote is ergonomically designed to allow trainer ability to respond quickly, and easily operate and change settings without having to look down at the remote. Stop looking, just buy this one.

Solid unit!
This thing does everything well. Charging time is always less than 1 hour for me and I charge it just once a week! The distance is great the night light is a life saver. I wish it had a "bark" sensor but that is all it's missing. It really works well and is not very difficult to set up. We did buy a piece of elastic and some cheap 1" buckles to make a collar that doesn't release. It simply stretches over our pups head and then automatically sets itself for the right size for adequate pressure without being too tight or too loose. It has three settings that are very handy. 1) vibrate only 2) shock but lightly (you set the level you want) 3)super shock which will stop him/her in their tracks if you like. (you also set the level to #3 that you would like) Also we like the saftey feature that once you set the levels it takes a bit to get back to those levels so they can't be adjusted by accident. Nice safety so you don't "OVERSHOCK" your pooch. Very humane way to keep your dog in control and if you have control then everyone wins. It's a big safety plus to keep the dog away from hazards. We almost never have to shock our pup and he's bullheaded. When he feels the vibration he freezes and makes immediate corrective action 100% of the time. Nice collar that's worth the money.

Worth every penny.
Works pretty well, only you have to put it up to at least 15 before it can be felt. I put it on my forearm and tried it, so that's how I know.It does get the dog's attention, and that's what I bought it for.I was given the first one when my dog went through training. And it worked pretty well, so I ended up buying a second so that I would always have a backup. When the first one stopped working properly, I contacted the company and they were very quick to send out a replacement and apologized for the inconvenience. Their customer service team is outstanding!

Has given my dog the freedom she deserves!
I don't often write Amazon reviews but I agonized about his purchase so I decided to share my experience for others who may be similarly hesitant to use an e-collar. My 2-year old rescue dog looks like a lab but acts like a lab. She has a really strong prey drive. I used R+ to train recall with a long line for more than a year. I tried all kinds of treats and lots of verbal praise. Seh is not really motivated at al by play. He recall was OK unless there was any kind of prey. She would then lose her mind and would entirely ignore me and, sometimes, pull me over. I was kind of resolved to have her on leash forever. As a hiker, this was tough because holding onto a leash is tough on rocky terrain. Also, she often seemed mopey before walks. I would let her smell A LOT but she often just seemed depressed. She was fine physically. I decided to try an e-collar as a last resort. The deal I made with myself is that is cowered when I tried to put it on or showed signs of fear of me, or if she became reactive in any way, I would drop it.There are two types of negative reinforcement--escape conditioning and avoidance conditioning. In escape conditioning, you use a stronger shock and the dog recalls to avoid this, kind of like driving near the speed limit to avoid a speeding ticket. In escape conditioning, you se a weaker shock and use it prior to recall and the dog recalls to make the shock stop, like putting on a seat belt to make the seat belt alarm stop. My trainer used the former.Initially, my dog was compliant but seemed incredibly subdued. she had been shciked perhaps 4 - 5 times over a 3 week period She stuck t me like glue but didn;t really explore. My trainer said to give it time and I did. Fast fq

Doesn’t last
I’ve had this product less than a year and I have to charge it every other day practically at this point. The battery doesn’t stay charged, may not be worth your investment.

Effective
Have bought two for use on my German Shepherds. Works well and does not cause them harm. Also has a great night light on it for going out in the dark. Had good distance, I use it on my 5 acre property and can recall the dogs without a problem. Battery life is good. Lasts all day without a problem.
