Carpenter's Glue and Elmer"s they just go together
This is a good product that we overlook in our tool boxes. It comes in handy that first time you need it and then later when you have to repair something. Elmer's makes high quality products and this is no exception! I've known their name and products since I was a little kid, and I'm not so young anymore. This was easy to use, nice package with an easy to close top, the filler spread easy, and bonded well. It was easy to clean up, especially when you don't use too much and can easily wipe away the excess quickly. I simply tooled this in place, sometimes I find that if I use a small piece of paper towel slightly dampened, I can get a nice smooth surface that I don't have much sanding to do. On larger fills, I just plan on doing a few fills rather than try to put too much in and have it become lumpy or too bulbous and then you have too much sanding.

Excellent batch of wood filler
I've not been considerably happy with Elmer's wood filler in the past, but I needed something for exterior use that was both paintable and stainable. I'm now on my fourth tube and I could not be happier with the results. This wood filler performs better than expected. Once dry it forms a strong, dense fill that sands well to match surrounding surface levels. Paint adheres as per regular wood. Staining isn't so great as it tends to be lighter than regular wood, however, touch up with darker stain will remedy this problem.I'm hoping future batches of this product are just as good.

Good Product
I purchased this for a minor repair on the windowpane. It is easy to apply, durable, brown in color, odorless, and reasonably priced. I would buy it again.

Buy anything else
Product was so dry no matter how much you cut the bottle nipple it doesn’t come out. Poor adhesion and appears to have fine mortar sand making it impossible to penetrate joints.

Used to fill gap in hardwood floor
Works & cleanup easy. Once dry after 24 hours, used wood stain pen to match wood flooring.

Easy to use, drys fast, sands well.
This is a good product. I like it for small projects, it hardens super fast so you’re project isn’t On hold, for small holes and dings it’s ready to sand in 10-15 mins. It’s good for larger gaps as well.

TOO THIN
Most of the reviews gave this product glowing praise. There was one review which was dead on in my experience. When I cut the tip and started to use the material it was much too thin and there was no suggestion of wood particles. That one review suggested that the material came out too thin in the beginning and too thick at the end. The problem was that you cannot mix it easily because it is in a plastic tube. It's not expensive enough to return. I will try to mix it in the tube but think I will have to buy something in a normal container.

Great Water Soluble Wood Filler
I'm accustomed to working with a wood filler that is not water soluble, so I grabbed this when I found out that it IS water soluble. It works beautifully, filling in cracks and adhering well to the wood. It also sands down nice and smooth without excess elbow grease and it stays put. I did not use it on a surface to stain it, but to paint it over in color. It painted over smoothly and I can't tell where the wood begins and where the filler ends. Great stuff.
