Sold and beautiful chairs
The chairs arrived in a well packed box. Heavy and sturdy wood and paint were high quality and the chairs were easy to assemble.Previously I had chairs from Ikea which I just replaced with these chairs and I do not regret because they are really better and solid for a fair price.A great value for such nice chairs.

That is the bad news. The good news is they are absolutely ...
I bought these two chairs hoping they would closely match 4 other chairs I bought used to go at my breakfast table. They are a bit taller and have a satin finish so they don't match too well. That is the bad news. The good news is they are absolutely beautiful. The finish is gorgeous and the chairs are made of heavy wood with a pretty grain that shows thru the satin black finish a little - very high end looking. They are also very sturdy and have a larger seat than my other chairs, great for a little bit bigger bottoms, comfortable. I looked thru all the packaging trying to find a recommended weight limit and could not find it. But they are very sturdy. Another plus - sooooo easy to put together. They are partially assembled so you just screw on the two front legs and the back and back legs are one piece, so then you screw that on. Total of 11 screws each and it comes with the Allen wrench needed. They sat evenly and no wobble. that is all good news. Another bit of bad news - I now want to buy 4 more chairs because I like these so much better than my resale purchase.

A really nice solid chair
I ordered 6 of these chairs and all arrived in perfect condition - no missing or broken parts. They were easy to assemble. One or two of them were a little uneven at first but then we did the final tightening with the chair upright (as opposed to lying down in the position we assembled them) and that did the trick. The finish is more matte than glossy so how they will clean up is yet to be seen, but the finish is smooth and consistent. The seat is wider than anything I had before but I am not tight for space so that is not a problem and it makes them sturdy and less likely to tip. I'm very pleased with them and think they are a great chair at a great price.

Very sturdy
I have 8 of these chairs around my dining table now, some are upwards of 4 or 5 years old. They are very sturdy and durable. A few had started to get a little wobbly and the screws just needed a tighten up and they have been great again. Nice wide seat and haven’t felt the need to put cushions on them because they are plenty comfortable without the extra padding

Simple, solid - one recommendation on assembly
It's a fine looking chair. I did have (as I saw another did - so watch out for it) one back piece that had visible white glue "bubbling" at the seam - I wrote customer service with a pic, and they responded very quickly (within 30 minutes) and gave me the tracking number for the new part being shipped. My experience:Very simple to put together. There are 11 screws in total across the chair - they provide each size in separate bags (short, standard, long) - and the directions are clear. I think some have commented on this as being hard or taking a long time - I don't understand that. I've put IKEA furniture together that has been a pain - this was ezpz."Wobble." A few have spoken on this - two pieces of advice: (1) don't tighten screws one-by-one as you go - screw them in as "groups" - moving from one to another. Basic rule of furniture and it's in the instructions - keep them loose until you are ready to tighten them all down (more for the attachment of seat to back as opposed to the front two legs). (2) Potential "wobble" is controlled when you attach the seat and front legs to the back frame/leg assembly. Take your time with this - snug but don't tighten - and test the levelness (a word?) as you go. I found that it took a few iterations - there is a bit of flexibility in terms of these two pieces going together - and you can adjust the pitch of the seat to the back and get it perfect. Hope that makes sense. So - I think they're fine looking, solid, and had good experience with customer service. And the assembly takes a bit of care with the wobble factor you may read about in reviews, but I don't know that it would be any different with putting together any other chair.Update: I still feel good about the chairs - but the last two I received (of 6 total - in separate shipments) - had issues. One had the same "glue bubbles visible at seam" issue - the other may have been handled while the paint was still wet - and you can see the imperfections in finish on the top back of the chair. I've written and assume they'll ship new - but even with great customer service (and a product I'm happy with) - it's a bit of a chore.

Very Good Solid Chair Wish the 19" Seat Was Less Wide Great Price
I originally bought these many years ago at Pottery Barn. Took years to find them! now that I wanted a fresh pair. Thing is, the previous ones were designed with a 17" (not these at 19") wide seat giving the chair a more elegant look. Wish they would design these with that in mind. A wide seat takes away from the design. Wide is wide and not as elegant. Hope the manufacturer offers the "slim" version." It was visually much nicer. That said these are very nice. I do like that they added that ridge on the X chair back. Some versions of this chair do not have that design element and the fact that this does, give the chair a handsome look -not so plain. Also, one of the chairs the paint finish along the top back piece, needed more paint and one can see the striations of the "grain". All they needed to do was check the finish and if it didn't have enough paint density, spray some more.. All in all a great chair. Hope it stays in the line forever.

Excellent chairs
I did a lot of research before I made the purchase of these chairs and could not be happier. The fit and finish was right on, easy assembly with only 11 bolts per chair. Have nothing negative to say and would definitely purchase these chairs again. These chairs are very well built and heavy duty. I would expect they would last for many many years.Tom
