Q: No instructions...do I just jam it in, as it comes out of the box?

if you have the old one out it should just be a matter of sliding it in where it needs to go reversing the process you did removing the old one and you probably don't want to jam it in. I had issues with mine as the old one didn't want to come out of the bracket on the bottom of the chair

Q: Will this fit in a Razer Iskur chair?

You need to check the measurements that they say. Diameter of the cylinder in the base, and the length of the shaft. I bought the long one it fit but the chair now sits a little higher when lowered and a lot higher when extended. Check the bottom Diameter in the base/wheels

Q: I have a emerge vortex game chair (p/n 58293), will this cylinder fit?

It would have fit my gaming chair but my old cylinder would not come out. I used everything but a torch to get it out. If you have one of the cheap Amazon chairs you might want to look at that first. I changed one in my drafting chair with no problems?

Q: What is the difference between the two sizes? How do I know which one I need?

One size (2.5) provides 2.5" of lift height, while the other (5.5) provides 5.5" of height variance. Which one you'll need depends entirely on how high you'd like/need the chair to be when you sit on it and how much you'd like that height to be adjustable when you work the hydraulics.
