Excellent product for the price point-- but there are trade offs
Overall, this product is perfectly adequate. Its major selling point is the price point. This product is a much finer powder than other hydrolyzed collagen powders I've tried. It's not quite flour-textured, but pretty close. Other brands seem to have larger (more abrasive?) granules. This product does clump a lot more because it is such a fine powder, but it does fully dissolve. It just takes a little longer than other brands. Again, this is an inconvenience, but it's hardly a deal breaker. Also, because it is such a fine powder, I puffs into a little powder cloud as I dumb the scoop into my cup. This leaves a fine dust film on the counter top, which I wipe immediately. These are the drawbacks of it being so finely ground. I've also detected a faint tart taste to this product. Again, this is not a deal breaker, but it did register and has taken a couple days of getting used to. I mix the collagen powder into broth, which masks most of the subtle taste, but I still detected the very slight tartness.Bottom line:1. It does clump, but it will fully dissolve-- just takes an extra minute.2. It also has a slightly more noticeable taste, but this is not off putting.3. It's a little messier because of the dust cloud it makes.4. It has an amazing price point.Review update:I switched back to my older brand of collagen once this pouch of Earthtone Collagen ran out. To my surprise, I had gotten so used to the mildly tart taste of this collagen that I actually miss it. I now prefer the flavor of the Earthtone for my broth. I will continue to order this brand in the future. The extra dissolving time (about an additional minute) is not such an inconvenience that it would stop me from buying this product.

Dissolves easily in a cup of coffee with a couple tricks! Love this stuff
After trying another brand (Great Lakes) from a blog link, I found this product, read the reviews, and decided to take a chance considering it's pretty much half the price. I am very glad I did. I can barely taste it in my coffee. The only real difference (besides price) in comparing these two products is that this takes a few moments longer to dissolve, but it does dissolve very well.To save on bothering with stirring and aid quick dissolving, I put it the collagen in the bottom of my empty coffee cup and then pour the coffee right on it, pouring it very deliberately onto the collagen, so by the time my cup is full, I only have a few little bits floating on the top. Then I walk away for a few moments to grab the cream and the rest of my breakfast; by the time I'm back, most, if not all, of the collagen has dissolved, so a couple of quick stirs is all I need. Might as well spend my time getting things done instead of stirring and stirring!Just bought my second bag; I'm hooked on this fantastic product.

A compelling collagen product
I've been using Great Lakes Collagen daily for a while now, which is kind of the industry standard, but I was looking for something a little less expensive and picked this up. My review will be comparing it to that. The packaging actually looks much better than it does in the product picture, so that was a positive first impression. The powder itself looks pretty much the same as Great Lakes's powder. When I put it in cold water, which is the hardest for collagen to dissolve in, it took just a little longer than Great Lakes to dissolve, but it did dissolve completely. Just like Great Lakes collagen, it adds a slight yellowish tint to the water. (I'm not sure why the other review said it turned her drink gray, but it definitely didn't do that for me!) The taste was very similar to Great Lakes, meaning it has a subtle taste if you put it in plain water, but it's not a big deal for either product. When I put it in my coffee, I honestly couldn't even tell it was there.Overall I think this is a very compelling product, especially for the price. I've often complained about the high prices for wellness products like this, and this is a great value. It's grass-fed and non-GMO, which are important to me. There's very little practical difference from Great Lakes when using it, so I can't really see a good reason to spend so much more for the other brand, unless you really can't spare the extra seconds it takes to dissolve.

Works for me
I've been taking collagen supplements for approx 1 year and only really began to see results in the last several months. So, yeah..this could be due to the fact that it does take a while to see results of collagen supplements..or that I started out with the pill form until the last 3 months.. or due to this product....I can't say for sure. I have read that the absorption rate of powdered collagen peptides are much higher. than the pills. But I do like the price of this and results are results.I already do a lot for the skin on my face so I have to take into account the skin on my body too. Although I do work out and am fit I do see tighter skin overall and a healthier glow. I've almost forgotten about my back and neck pain. My hair has stayed thick despite that pesky aging thing but my nails and hair do seem stronger and healthier.I transfer the powder into a previous container with a scoop and I put it in my morning coffee.. Now, for me it dissipates into a froth in the matter of about one minute. It will appear to clump... but just wait. Remember that anything added to make it instantly dissolve is just another chemical added that you don't really need..I don't taste it in this way but some people are more sensitive than others. But I'd never add it to cold water. A smoothie or coffee is the way to go and no problem.
