I have used Staedtler pigment liners for a couple of years. They are by far my favorite art-liner. When I want to do a small drawing, zentangle or write in my bullet journal, this is what I reach for. I think these are far and away superior to Sakura Micron pens in both tip quality, ink flow, and pen material quality for smaller millimeter black pen sizes.The tips are very durable, and work snag-free on a variety of papers. The ink runs out long before the tips wear down. I do get a lot of miles from these pens. There is no scratchy sensation, no snagging, on my journal paper (Pentallic) or on my wide variety of drawing and marker papers.The metal tip casings are perfect for drawing ruled lines, something I often do in my journal. The metal part is long enough to use with most rulers, but not too long to be prone to bending or give an awkward distance from the page.The barrel is what makes the cost of these pens worth it - not too thin or thick, smooth but not slippery. The plastic casing has a slight texture that runs the length of the pen, minimizing slipping and making a more secure grip possible. The caps post very nicely, have never had one get in the way or fall off. The clips wear out over time, but that's not a really important consideration for me. The case that this set comes in is pretty handy.My only wish is that they would make a brush tip and a 0.03 tip for my very-fine, usually small line drawings. If they made them in different colors I'd have the whole stash.

I love these. The nibs are perfect as well as the lines you can draw. The ink doesn’t dim or skip. And the nib sizes are clearly marked. I didn’t think I could ever like anything besides the Sakura Pigmon pens, but these are superior.

I saw this set recommended for use with watercolors. I've recently started urban sketching and I'd like to add watercolor to them. The black color is nice and I love the range of sizes, especially for the price. They do seem to be waterproof, but my sketches have been completed at least a day before I use any watercolor. The hard plastic case is a very nice bonus! The case is perfect for travelling and storing. I wish they also came in even smaller millimeter tips.

I had always been a sharpie girl from my youth. Which tends to have a purple/blue hue to them when you add water or alcohol to it . It took so long for me to try these since back then I got them for $20 for just 4 pens and I didn't want to spend that much. I was wrong. They were SO....SO worth it. Now they are the only ones I use. (If other people have found anything better, please feel free to reach out). ESP since now on Amazon you get the 2 free and under $20.THESE pens are amazing and waterproof and you can add watercolor and keep the beautiful lines. This outline I have included with review will have watercolor over it and will try and update it once done.There is not one thing I can say is a con about these pens. Not even the price. They are well worth it. Infact, I accidentally left the cap off once OVERNIGHT and when I saw made a whine noise so that my partner noticed and came in the room. THEN, I picked it up and started writing and it CAME BACK. Try and leave a sharpie pen uncapped for more than a couple mins and see if that happens...you will be out of a pen. But this beautiful beast came right back.

I use them for watercolor painting. It works great. Love the fine lines and does not react with water.

I use the staedtler pigment fineliners for my art work in my sketchbooks and they are amazing quality. Definitely worth the money to spend and it doesn’t smudge when using colorful markers on top of the fineliners. The pens have a great variety of sizes and perfect for on the go traveling,Bible journaling, sketching, and writing. I would definitely buy some more in due time😇

My go to pigment liner. Love that it does not smudge when dry or when you add water after it dries. Think the package is a good value.I am a watercolor and mixed media artist and use this in my work.

My rankings of top writing pens (all deliver excellent overall line/ink quality):1. Mitsubishi Uni Pin Fine Line - good grip, darkest black, best glide, good precision2. Staedtler Pigment Liner - best grip, ok black, ok glide, excellent precision3. Sakura Pigma Micron - mediocre grip, ok black, ok glide, top precisionNote on grip -- I tend to hold pens fairly close to the nib, the farther out you hold the pen, the less of a difference there is between these pens.Overall, my default pen (or especially if I want to write quickly) is Mitsubishi Uni Pins because they glide on paper the smoothest and the ink looks the richest. When I feel like more like using a slightly more comfortable & precise pen, I switch over to the Staedtler Pigment liners. While the Sakura Microns are still excellent pens overall, I no longer use them because they lose in grip comfort to the Staedtlers, and lose in everything except precision to the Mitsubishi Uni Pins.
