Terrific sword at a great price
Very well balanced, nice weight, well made sword and pretty well made scabbard although detailing is lower quality materials and not very well attached. Yet the sword is very good looking. Good materials except for the detail attachments, and really, I love the feel of the sword and the look of the scabbard. A great price. Pretty remarkable - I am so happy to have found it.

Good for the price, a bit heavy
My sword arrived a few days ago and is about as expected from the description. It is stainless steel (not particularly flexible) and the grip is plastic (but looks nice). Actually, it looks great and the light reflects off the blade in an epic way. The manufacture is OK, what you'd expect for a 30 dollar blade- it was a bit offset and there is a gap between the blade and the guard. But it seems sturdy enough and you can't see the flaws if you're not looking for them.As far as using it for Tai chi forms, this is a very heavy sword. Right on the edge of what I would consider reasonable. For a few weeks I had been practicing forms with a bokken (hardwood practice sword) and this is actually a bit heavier! The balance is decent, about 4 inches in front of the guard, and the length is spot on. So I will try using it for a month or so to see if my arms/fingers get strong enough to wield it, but given that I have no problem with the katana this sword might just be too heavy.Update: I've been practicing with this sword for about a year now and was able to adapt to the weight, but it is still too heavy if you want a "typical" taichi blade. Especially since the balance point is not close to the handle, which is traditional. Whenever I switch with other people in my group they are always shocked. Still, it is a pretty blade, and good for strength and fajin training.

IT'S AWESOME
the sword seems very durable, the grip is comfortable, the reflection on the blade is cool and it does not slip in the scabbard but also slides out easily, the color is nice and the sword has the perfect amount of flexibility for tai chi.great sword!

Don't waste your money
As a swordsman I was looking for a decent practice piece for my students. The sword pictured is a Cas Hanwei sword. This is a piece of crap. The furniture was loose, scabbard fittings loose, the blade was rusty and it was defined as "more rigid than spring steel", yet the blade is wushu steel. Not worth the money, now I have to waste my time to send it back!

Nice sword but difficult to contact dealer
The final outcome was fair and the product is a good one at a fair price. The product originally sent was defective. It ultimately was replaced with no additional shipping and handling charges. Arriving at the fair settlement was frustrating. The dealer didn't contact me in earnest until I posted a negative review on the Amazon website, and had gotten Amazon customer service involved. The negative review was removed from the website after the eventual satisfactory resolution of my consumer complaint.

Tai Chi Practice Sword - Great Buy!
This is a great sword to practice with. I like that it has just enough weight to be substantial, but not enough to tire one out prematurely. From what I can deduce, it is simple spring steel that comes to a point, and there is no edge to worry about. The scabbard is cheap, but that isn't really a concern, the sword is pretty decent quality and very useful for Tai Chi practice. This has helped me regain some of my range of motion in a shoulder I fractured over a year ago. Besides being low impact, it is also a useful extension of oneself, to become further immersed in the practice of Tai Chi, which is after all a martial art.

This sword is almost exactly what I was looking for
This sword is almost exactly what I was looking for with only a couple of small points against it. My Tai Chi instructor warned me not to get the flimsy wushu steel swords and though I was going for spring steel, this blade is a little more firm. It might be a little heavier than flimsier blades but it is no where near as heavy as combat steel and easily managable. It looks great. Everything came very quickly and all the hardware was in good shape. I didn't see any of the defects some of the others have mentioned. The blade is no more sharp than a butter knife which is good as I've brushed it up against myself and another person in practice already.I really only have two complaints against it. First, the overall length of the sword isn't really 40 3/4 inches (when measured out of the scabbard) but is closer to 36 1/2. Also the tassel is very flimsy and prone to unraveling when it catches on things. That is going to have to be replaced at some point.Overall its a very good sword at an unbeatable price. I don't hesitate to recommend it.
