Brilliant insite into the character Severus Snape
I have loved Severys Snape since I first read the books in the late 1990s. ( of course when he was played by Alan Rickman in the films he became fantasy crush material ) anyway the book goes into detail of the complex character of Hogworts potion master, his traumatic childhood and youth and that you don't have to handsome, muscle bound and wearing a halo or super heroes outfit to be heroic and brave. Wonderful book you can dip into anytime. I used to write Snape fan fiction. Such a fascinating, beautifully created character.

Excellent
Having been a Snape fan since the first book was published, and having championed him after the turbulant ending of book six, I thought I had a good idea of what he was about. However, Lorrie Kim has opened my eyes to more of this character I hadn't considered or realised. There were moments when I thought she may have read too much into the structure of a sentence, or the troubles of his mind, but I thank her for giving me an excuse to vist once again this 'enduring gift to English literature'.

My children are of the Harry Potter generation who grew up in real time with the Trio and their adventures. I myself became hooked alongside them because the Marauders were time-wise absolutely my own. This fabulous book covers the original series in depth from an adult perspective with particular reference to perhaps the most complex and divisive character created by J K Rowling, Severus Snape. Although already well versed in the universe, I found much to ponder and more than a few eye-opening revelations within its pages. A most knowledgable, enjoyable, nostalgic revisit to one of my all time favourites. A real treat.
