The knife arrived as advertised and on time. The overall quality of the blade, handle, and scabbard are excellent for the money. I own 3 hiking / camping neck knives and all of them have ups and downs. The description on Amazon says this knife is for detail work, but one of the videos suggests that it is more for self defense. I would disagree with the latter. It is awkward to draw as it requires an rather unnatural curved motion to release it from the scabbard. This is especially true when it is worn using the included belt loop option. However, as a small, utility knife that does not require a fast draw, it should work very well. It came with a rough sharp edge, which is functional, but most people will want to put a tighter edge on it. Ceramic finish stone worked fine for me. It's a relatively "soft" steel, sharpening it to razor is quite simple, but it will need maintenance with regular use.Finally, I find the grip to be a bit uncomfortable, as with most small knives, however I can see becoming more comfortable with it over time.

highly recommend. very well made. devastating CQC weapon. perfect for women to carry in a purse. these things inflict serious damage and would be great for a female to incapacitate or get away from an attacker since a simple slashing technique is all that is required with karambit knives. These fit so naturally and positively in your hand. small but scary.At their price point I don't think CRKT knives can be beat.

This is my second time purchasing a Keramin. This time for a friend after some creep wouldn't take no for an answer while she was out grocery shopping and had to ask a store clerk to walk her to her car. The first one was for my sister a few years ago for similar situations and she loves it. This is NOT for utility. The tip is needle sharp and too thin for repeated use. Get a different blade shape or a box cutter if that's what you need. This is plan B if pepper spray doesn't do the job and an attacker manages to grab her. The grip is unbelievable for something so small. Combining the way it locks into the hand with the curved blade and needle point makes it almost impossible to take away from someone without serious injury. Despite the blade being relatively short it has the leverage to disable just about any attacker's arm with one good pull, giving her a chance to escape.
