Good application
Had to have special tool to get the old one off. Might have to apply just a tad of heat to assist in this application. Be careful if you tear the old one up you’ll probably scrap the hot water heater.

Caution: Make sure system has thermal expansion provision
Old valve leaked when heating water by propane and electric immersion heater. So i purchased new valve and did same thing. After thinking awhile I determined that the water system is a closed loop system due to check valve on water hose inlet and the thermal expansion associated with heating water from room temperature to thermostat setting, the water needs someplace to expand so the system needs an expansion tank instead forcing excess pressure out through T & P valve.
