We are semi-preppers. We have gas masks and realize that this filer is not for major contamination. There may come a time, however, and perhaps sooner rather than later, when we need additional filters. Any protection may be appreciated, so I went ahead and ordered this filter for some protection, if not complete protection.This Tesoro P-A-2 Activated Carbon Cartridge Organic Vapors RD40 40mm Gas Mask Replacement Filter is sold by an American seller. I notice they don't say where it is made, just that it is sold by an American seller. There is no "made in" label on the filter, so I do have questions about it. It fits most masks and filters common vapors. It would be ideal for painters and people working around everyday fumes. I do recommend it as long as you are aware of its limitations.

Good quality, purchased for my husbands mask that he uses for painting and staining wood and it works great for that.It might not be as good for gases and things like that, but I ordered it with the intention of using for painting.We’re happy with it, just wish it had a longer shelf life, but 3 years isn’t too bad, especially for the price.

If you're grabbing this for prepping, you're gonna be disappointed. These P-A-2 filters are not CBRN rated and are designed mainly for VOC exposure.The 40mm NATO threads fit fine in my SEA/Scott mask, and since i mainly use my mask for exposure to paint and wood stain, this should be fine for my needs .

I still have this 9 months later and I love it! Works great for dirty diapers and onions!

This 40mm replacement mask filter can fit most types of full-face gas masks. It is not military-grade and will not offer the same degree of gas protection. For example, military-grade filters are three times more expensive and offer protection against a greater number of dangerous gases. The shelf life of this filter is only 3 years. However, it offers protection against a variety of vapors and the cartridge is durable.
