rome's chuckwagon waffle iron, cast iron
this is an excellent product, to use I found that when I received it it was as it was stated to be, I seasoned the waffle maker which was very easy to do. I have found that I not only use it for making waffles but I do hashbrowns with it I would not trade it for the world and I wonder why it took me so long to get it. I love it. it is a great iron for the price, it is not heavy I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that was looking for an old fashioned waffle iron that will last long after I leave this world! You in my opinion can not go wrong with it

These irons are well made and work great. If you had asked me to review them after I had to scrape my first couple of stuck waffles out, the number would be much different. But after figuring out our issue (season them well, use plenty of spray and add a little extra oil to your waffle batter) these made the most delicious waffles while we were camping. We made gluten free waffles and my mom thought they were better than her regular ones she makes at home. Such a treat, can't wait to take them camping again. Waffles is our new favorite camping breakfast thanks to these irons.

Pie Irons are Fun Tools to Use
We have used Pie Irons for all kinds of food & the kids love it. If you have a wood stove & the power goes out they sure come in handy to cook a meal. They are amazing utensils to use. Sometimes I feel like I'm experiencing what our women pioneers did when they had to be creative along the trails. Simple was always best in those conditions but sometimes using a pie iron can put variety on the table. They are easy to use. You just need to get use to them just like when cooking with a camp Dutch Oven. But I didn't know you could get a Waffle Iron. So my family is looking forward to using them. It will be interesting to see what they come up with, with their own recipes.

Very impractical while camping
Although this seemed like a great idea, it was anything but. I seasoned it well in my oven before using and practiced with it on my stove at home prior to taking it camping. I finally got it down... not burned, not sticking. When we took it camping, our first waffle burned and stuck something fierce. It was horrible. We ended up with pancakes instead. It's very difficult for one person to fill with batter because it opens so wide and then comes apart. It was just an overall bad experience. We threw ours away :(

Great LITTLE TINY ITTY BITTY waffle iron
Amazon/FEDEX shipping DESTROYED the shipping container which resulted in a deep scrape on the iron. That is no big deal but minus one star to Amazon for crummy packaging. My only gripe about the product is that this iron is TINY and it doesn't show how small it is in the pictures. It should say Mini-Waffle Iron in the description. These lilliputian waffles will not fill up your entire plate like normal 9" waffle does. They are about six inches across. Small. Tiny. Miniature waffles. It takes ten of them to fill up a decently hungry man. Other than the diminutive size of the iron, it's GREAT! Season/Condition it properly and treat it like any other cast iron cookware and it will last forever. You may need to replace the handles every five years or so... :)

Awesome waffle maker
I received this waffle maker today in the Mail. I boiled the waffle plates then ran them under cold water to see the wax that was left. I used a scouring pad to scratch off the wax and dipped them in boiling water again and repeated the process until all the wax wAs off. I decided to wait until after I got back from the store to season it, not a good idea the plates had already started to rust. I boiled the plates again dried them, put canola oil all over, took the handles off, and baked them in the oven at 350 for one hour. After the waffle iron cooled I heated them on my gas stove. Next, I Sprayed them with nonstick spray and added the waffle mix. I Cooked the waffle for 1minute on each side the waffles were delicious. I'm glad I made this purchase and will be using it when we camp this Friday.

Use it all the time, camping / at home
I LOVE this waffle iron! Excellent quality. I’ve taken it camping and use it every other weekend to make my secret recipe waffles. During camping I used it over an open fire (nice long handles), at home I use it on a gas stove. Season it well and get it nice and hot. No stick at all! Gives a nice brown crust. 100% recommend it.
