will this work for a bathroom fan duct that I need to decrease from 4" - 3" to fit in an eave vent? some people say that the reducer is the same size

It may work in an eave vent. I used it right off the ceiling vent fan. The exhaust duct on the old fan was 3 inch and the fan vent opening on the new fan was 4 inch. Aluminum taped inside and outside, then double wrapped the ducting. As strong as the reducer is, it would be difficult to reduce the length

What's the temperature rating on this reducer?

Its galvanized steel! Unless you r looking for industrial stuff, the temp rate must be way above what you need; if you looking for industrial, steer clear!

Can you clamp this to a 4 inch dryer vent? not the hose side

You need a duct splitter probably.. I don't really know what you're trying to do

Will this work for a portable electric dryer?

I used it to vent a free-standing a/c unit. I did not have a window and drilled a hole in the wall and used this to vent it. I would think it would work for your dryer.
