It’s nice and compact and works perfectly to sync my iPod gen 3 using the rest of the dongle to get it back to usb c (thunderbolt c) lol. Definitely worth it

I needed to hook op my old Presonus Firepods (FP-10) audio interfaces to my old Mac Pro (2012). The Presonus Firepods have 6 pin firewire 400 connectors and my Mac Pro has firewire 800 ports and this little adapter did the trick. The Firepods can be daisy chained but will not work at 96kHz when daisy chained but do work just fine when connected separately (the Mac Pro has 4 firewire 800 ports). I did some recording (24 channels) and the old Presonus Firepods sound really good especially considering that they are more than 15 years old.

This thing doesn’t like to stay plugged in and the piece itself is pretty long and rather bulky, but the connection is always good and it has worked well for me aside from that.

I needed a adapter that had FW800 male with a FW400 female to connect a FW800 iMac to a FW400 Mac for data transfer. This did the job! Excellent price with this adapter. The only recommendation I would give to customers is to buy 2 of the adapters for your FW400 cable if you need both ends to be FW800!

Works great and as intended

It was cheap and did exactly what it was supposed to.I was transferring data from and old MacBook Pro that would not boot up (except in target disk mode - hold down T then power on) and an older iMac. The older models only gave me the firewire option. One is 400 the other 800. Hence the need for the adapter.It worked just fine.

It works but I purchase a wire after that.

I’ve been using this as part of a long daisy chain to get my VCR to talk to my new iMac, and it has worked splendidly! Connector feels sturdy, not cheap, which is surprising given the price. Recommended.
