Replacement Electric Connector for sailboat lights in mast
When my electrical connector dry-rotted and they will, I replaced it with this new part. My old connector was 12 years old and the threaded attachment ring had cracked causing the connector to fall off. The 426234-1 5 Amp Electric Connector by Sea Dog Line was a great replacement. This connection provides lights to my sailboat mast. Having the connector allows an easy disconnect point when you take the mast down and keeps water from entering through the bulkhead into the cabin. Installing was easy for the do-it-yourselfer. Just make sure you have all your tools before you start; solder iron (if needed), needle nose plyers, small flathead screwdriver, Philips screwdriver, and “rubber boot tape”. I tinned the wire tips with solder before seating them in the back hollow pins to keep an even pressure point on all the wire strands. A torque screw easily tightens to hold the wire in place. I used a marine rubber boot tape around the cable to keep water from entering the back of the connector.

Could use improvement
A bit over priced for what you get. Two of the terminal screws snapped when tightening. Luckily it came with four conductors and I only needed two. The protective plastic cap will likely not weather the sun for very long and likely to break off in a couple of seasons.Shipped promptly.

Dont tighten wire screws clamps to tight.
Great connector. Replaced my deck fitting for my mast on my sailboat. The 4 pin connector allowed me to remove 2 existing connections on mast and replace with this 1. Runs my anchor, steaming, and spreader lights and of course the 4th wire is the ground. I did break one of the screws that tightened the wire on connector but that’s probably my fault bc i tightened to hard but since it was tight the wire is secure. Ill deal with it in the future if there is an issue.

Catalina 25
This replaced my stock Catalina 25 piece perfectly, even the screw holes lined up. Wish it had rubber heat shrink sleeve but I don’t think that exists anyways.
