WORKS GREAT!!
The Split Ender Pro 2 is amazing at trimming off split ends! I was a bit skeptical about buying it, but it is totally worth the money. I’ve been letting my hair grow out for about three years and I also color treat it every approx. 3-4 months with highlights/lowlights. Since I haven’t had a haircut for several years, my hair was getting dry-looking and a lot of “fizzy” split ends throughout. At this hair trimmer is so easy to use and the results are amazing. You can see all the little split ends that were removed from using it in my hair. My hair is much more silky soft and smooth now. For reference, I have straight, fine hair that is several inches longer than my shoulders. I’m really not very good with using hair tools, but this is so easy to use and the instructions are very simple to follow. It does not cut your hair but just trims off tiny little split ends (less then a 1/4”) and you can see them very closely if you look in the photo. it’s about as long as tiny razor stubble. Highly recommend!

Pricy, but glad I invested in this
After a yr of internal debate because of the price, I finally caved. It arrived in 2 days, well packaged & perfectly clean.I have had a lot of breakage from hair ties plus my hair is 1/2 straight, 1/2 curly... tons of split ends all over. Anyone who has curls knows the natural distrust of a hairdresser with scissors though & I wanted to keep my length. After it arrived, I washed my hair, let it air dry while occasionally brushing my fingers through to remove as much curl as possible. I know the instructions say to straighten, but heat without protective product on curly hair? Ha! That's crazy business! Once dry, I sectioned my hair, put on some netflix & went to it.1st, you have to figure out the sweet spot for the amount of hair. Not enough or too much, it won't work as well. 2. It's awkward to center the hair on the guides, but it gets easier as you go. If you don't have it centered, strands can get caught & pulled. 3. If you listen, you can actually hear the blades ticking off the stray ends so I ended up doing 4 passes until I didn't hear the cutting sound as much plus I had a LOT of breakage. 4. It's probably best to empty it out at least once during a sitting as I noticed a lot of hairs kinda stuck around the little blades... I can imagine too much would render it less effective & may gum it up if you have a lot of hair.It was very intimidating at 1st, but it's made to be darn near fool proof. I can tell it didn't get every tiny straggler, yet my hair feels so much smoother, softer & managable. I do hope it lasts long enough to be worth the price.

Read to know WHY this is trash
So I’ve had my eye in this since the first iteration, and I finally decided to sacrifice my hair to science with the “pro 2”, naively hoping they fixed the issues with it. Spoiler alert, they did not. :(I too am a “seek and destroy” type, snipping split ends with sharp scissors. I desperately wanted an easier solution. This is NOT it!!!First, let me explain how this tool works. It does not seek out split ends. It rolls your hair around a rod, so that the ends pop out as you slide the tool down the shaft of hair. A silicone flap pushes the popped ends into a what is essentially a giant beard trimmer. So every single hair end that is caught by the flap will have a 1/4” cut off, regardless of whether it is split or not. That’s why you have to go over super thin sections several times. Every hair doesn’t pop up with each pass.If it all worked as intended, it would be fine. It wouldn’t get every split. It would cut some hairs that don’t need it. But would be an excellent compromise. Here’s the actual problem. It doesn’t trim the hair ends. It RIPS the ends off. So now, not only are my existing split ends WORSE… But every single hair that went through (even the healthy ones) now have huge splits! My hair has never been more split in my life. I now have to decide whether to spend several days hand trimming all of these splits, or bite the bullet and get six inches of hair cut off. For me, that’s a full year of growth after trims.I will say, my hair is very fine. So perhaps of you have very coarse hair, you will get by. But I highly recommend only snagging the bottom couple of inches until you know how your hair will do. Actually, I highly recommend skipping this tool entirely. It’s a pipe dream. Can someone please make one that freaking works???I added a picture to show that nearly every hair is now split. I’ve NEVER had splits this bad, and we haven’t even gotten into the depths of the dry winter.Update: 3 months later… I had 2.5 inches cut off the ends. My stylist made a cursory cut of the mid-length splits during the cut. Then I spent at least 6 straight hours binging Netflix and trimming my ends “seek and destroy” style. Taking TINY sections until I’d gone through my entire head. I still have more split ends than any other time in my life. Basically every single hair ended in a split. It’s finally manageable again. As long as I keep it highly conditioned, I don’t get massive tangles that make the splits worse. I can finally wear my hair down again. Biggest hair mistake since getting ahold of scissors in elementary school. Don’t do it!!!
