It's unclear how this Otherness is spread, but it's very apparent that it happens somehow, and each side has their own theories.Meeting these new Others adds a new foreboding feeling to the book. They're very odd creatures, who even Teacher doesn't quite understand, though he tries. He wants to find a cure for this, and he wants to keep Shiva safe.Meanwhile, the humans from the Inside know that Shiva is out there and believe she's dangerous. Thus, they're planning an attack.This series is so good and yet sometimes hard to read. There's more darkness to it than I expected, and it's frustrating and sad at times. I just want Shiva and Teacher to be okay and happy, and all these people are trying to ruin it.

Intriguing story-telling and an interesting art style, it's strangely heartwarming and a must read for fans of manga and its Gothic art style. If you like Tim Burton or Neil Gaiman mixed with beautiful storytelling and incredibly like-able characters, I highly suggest you pick this series up. My only gripe would be that I wish there was a bigger sized version of these books because sometimes it's hard to see all the little details on each panel, but that's a minor gripe. I'll be following this series until it's completion because it really stands out and is as beautiful as it is interesting.

I absolutely love where this is going. We get more backstory on the Outsiders and Shiva, which was really needed. Also we're learning a bit more about Teacher and what lengths he'll go to protect Shiva. Still dark, atmospheric, and wonderfully whimsical. I love this so much!

“Come with me, into a land of pure imagination” —this is an incredibly beautifully illustrated manga! Easy to read font. Perfect size. Gorgeous quality of paper. The story itself is ethereal, mystical, other worldly. Enchanted fable. Treat yourself. It’s also quite haunting. Spooky. Yet perfect reading for a rainy day. It’s akin to being transported during a seance on a wet afternoon.

This book is so good! I was concerned that maybe it won't be as good as the first manga and that it might lose track(etc) but I was wrong. The book is wonderful! The series amazing. The story is sad, dark, beautiful and unique. To be honest this is my favorite manga series and I strongly suggest you read it yourself.

I would recommend it if you're into slow paste storytelling. It has a lot of mystery to it and it really helps the story develop the more you read into it.The art style is one of the things I think is important to appreciate too because it a very unique one, which you don't see in that many manga's, and how the art style compliments the story is fantastic.

I LOVE this series, I'm dying for the next book to come out. It's bittersweet and poignant, and a little more lowkey than something like The Ancient Magister's Bride, which is nice.

This is a gift. Just looked at one of the books and unlike American books, this reads from the "back" forward. It is written in comic book format, but is readable and is what I was asked to get as a gift.

Oh my. This story. These characters. The setting. The overall feeling. I love it so much.Book 2 has everything that I loved from book 1 plus more. In this book we find out a little more about the Outsiders’ culture, but there are so many questions asked. The pacing of this series is perfect for me. The balance between melancholic, pensive moments and intrigue and mystery is perfect.I can’t even pinpoint what it is exactly that makes me love this so much, but all I know is that it just speaks to me. I connect with the story and the characters with so much ease.*Takes deep breath.*Anyway, I’m off to sit in a dark corner and rock with anticipation until book 3 is released.

It was a great growth of the plot line and I was hooked throughout. She has been touched by an outsider who was confused as to why she was still pure. Whilst nothing is concrete there is a much deeper story behind the surface tale that I am looking forward fo finding out more.The characters seem to grow and if you are not ok with cliffhangers give up because it seems to be a theme with this series. Though personally I think it is a tale worth the aggravation. Especially with the depth of the characters starting to be revealed.

Gorgeous artsyle & storytelling.A rare find in the manga section but truelly worth the investment, I will be continuing to buy this series!
