So far so good. Worked out of the box. Used Energizer Max batteries to ensure long service. Vox mode worked OK for me, but less well for my wife.

I bought this walkie talkie for my work place as kitchen is upstairs and the main restaurant on the ground floor. Communication is a little awkward but since purchase this walkie talkie, it is easier to get message across for example ‘table one is ready’ or just short instructions from the chef to the frontline staff. It’s very simple to set up without reading the manual. It has a small lamp which is perfect if use in the dark. Microphone not included. It has a clip which can latch onto your belt. Inexpensive and perfect for other outdoor activities such as cycling, camping etc.

I like that these use AA batteries rather than having to have another device charger cluttering up the house. We use them as a quick way to communicate when I'm outside in the garden office, the sound and signal quality seem to be pretty good. My only gripe is that I wouldn't mind the volume being a little louder when up full. They are certainly better than cheap walkie-talkies we've had in the past. They will also be fun for our niece and nephew to play with when they come over.

I have bought this as a present for my grandson for a birthday that hasn't happened yet, so no chance to try them out. But they seem good quality and solid, and I see they come with rechargeable batteries too.I just want to add that since I wrote the original review (above) - I have given the present to my grandson and we were disappointed that it did not have the rechargeable batteries included as it said on the advert and in the information booklet that comes with the product (as I quoted above). It does not affect the quality of the product of course which is good but just to warn others who may make the same mistake I made. Although it says the ordinary batteries needed are (not included), it does say chargeable batteries are (included) which is a bit misleading.

These are brilliant, we use them to communicate with my son who is often down his cabin in the back garden. It's so easy to use compared to a phone. Sound quality is great. I even got my son to take one up the shop with him just out of pure fun to test the range. I couldn't believe it, he was at the shop and whilst there was some static I could still hear him perfectly! The shop is approximately a 5-10 minute walk away up a hill and round a corner. Would recommend these walky talkies to anyone.

We used these touring Italy with our friends - we were in 2 vans in convoy. We went through mountain passes, cities etc they were brilliant and never lost contact even though we did get split up a few times. Sometimes there's a bit of overspill mainly from industrial areas who are using the same frequency but you can either put up with it or change channels. We used them everyday for 3 weeks on holiday and we still have the same batteries in from day 1. Would definitely recommend.

There is no range moor then half a mile..it's just waste of money

Works well but the Battery was a bit loose, I had to fill the gaps with pieces of aluminium.
