Must get tool!
Works great, easy to use & takes the guessing game out of wondering if you got the right tension on your belt.

Very well made. Accepts thick serpentine belts.
Great tool perfectly sets tension. Far better than thumb pressure and a ruler. One reviewer says it only opens to 1/16 inch. Not true. There is a lot of spring tension in this device. You have to give the tool a firm squeeze to get it to open it up. Too bad the reviewer wasn't strong enough to use this tool. Very well made. Takes only a second to use. Have used hundreds of times over past 5 years.

Works great if you have plenty of room around it to use it.
Easy to use & read. You need plenty of side room & top room to use this. This is not for tight areas at all.

Recommended by Badboy Mowers and it doesn't work period in the space they tell you to test
These are way over priced but I bought it anyway as I needed to be able to test my belt tension on my 48 inch Badboy Zero Turn. Don't look to Badboy to see where to test the belt tension on the 48 inch Badboy Zero Turn. It is not possible to test it in the location they tell you too. Besides this tension tester is the one recommended and the belt barely fits to make the test. Not happy with it at all. Have learned though don't believe the vendor of the product when they show you in the manual picture where to make the test.

Simple to use for my fabricated serpentine system
I have a hotrod that I fabricated a serpentine belt system and it doesn't have a belt tensioner.I did as someone else mentioned. I put this on the serpentine belt, then just tightened the turnbuckle until the needle got to "New Belt" on the scale. I like not having to guess the tension by the old "wiggle" method.I like that it comes with a calibration paper, and the price was good.

Too large for modern vehicles
The tool is reasonably well made, but it's simply bizarre that the gauge face is facing backwards. On very few vehicles can you slip this tool on from the back of the belt which is required with this tool. The tool is also very large so I'm lucky if I can even get it on a modern car.A better design would have been to turn the legs around opposite thier current orientation and extend them out an inch. That would work on may more cars.

great tool that i would buy again!
i bought this to use on our coach based on the recommendation of a couple of professional mechanics.the first order was promptly delivered but based on what appeared to be a mfg defect, the plunger guide broke apart after the first couple of times that i depressed the plunger. i filed a return / replace with amazon / the vendor and the vendor responded immediately apologizing for the problem and said they would ship a replacement asap. the new unit arrived two days later.i used it yesterday on my coach belts and it worked just as expected on the belts i can easily get at. truth be told, i can't seem to access the serpentine belt as it's too close to engine block / various components so i'll have to (a) buy a different type of tension gauge or (b) solely rely on the new tensioner i'm installing to do its job.
