I fixed the sheath problem!
This knife is my favorite Condor knife, which is saying something because Condor is my favorite brand. They routinely hit the mark with quality blades made with quality time tested materials. Some of their products may have handles that are a bit chunky, but that's nothing a little time with a grinder or a little more time with a file can't fix. And to be honest some of their newer products the steel seems a bit on the thin side, but not this one. This Bowie is one of the very few large and wide Bowie style blades you can find on the market made of a decent steel. 1075 is tough as nails and can still take a razor edge. The balance of the blade is exceptional. The point of balance being about 2 inches above the crossguard, makes this blade lively in the hand and feel very light for it's size. The thickness of the steel is enough to be reliable without being too thick to slice nicely. The geometry of the tip gives it a wicked point. The sturdy no nonsense crossguard does it's job of protecting your hand well. The wood scales with brass pins are both super secure and beautiful in their simplicity. Overall this is a perfect classic big Bowie that would make our ancestors proud. The only downside of this product is the sheath. As has been mentioned in other reviews the sheath is made of quality leather and stiched well. The rivets are secure and look nice. All the quality you'd expect from Condor. The problem is the throat of the sheath is just a bit too narrow for the full swell of the belly of the blade(the widest part of the blade). You can get it into the sheath alright but drawing the knife it would stick every time, and have to be kind of wiggled out. Now, for me at least, a good sheath is make or break on a fixed blade knife. When I first received this knife I was enamored with it, but the sheath just wasn't functional. If you can't draw your knife at a decent speed with one hand it's just not functional. I searched high and low for a replacement sheath to no avail. Unless I was willing to spend more $$ than I paid for the knife to a local leather worker it just wasn't gonna happen. Then after much search I found my savior here on Amazon.HOW TO FIX THE SHEATH:A miracle product called FOOTMATTERS Professional Boot and Shoe Stretch Spray. It cost less than $10.00 for a bottle. When it arrived I took my sheath and doused the problem area in a liberal amount of the stuff. Then I carved some wooden shims into the shape I needed to stretch the leather. (I used 3 shims, 2 shaped kind of like half of a classic heater shield and then one as a longer narrow spike to hammered down between the two haves to create the pressure/tension needed to stretch the leather) After the shims were in place I doused everything again and left it to sit and dry. After it dried I used pliers to pull out the shims and tested it. The Bowie slid in and out with ZERO resistance. Worked like a dream. Which was kinda crazy because the sheath didn't look any more stretched out. Also it didn't damage the leather or even the stiching at all. At that point I gave everything a good coating of mink oil just in case the leather stretcher had dried out the leather somehow, and left it to sit over night. The next morning I wiped off the excess mink oil and checked everything out. Knife still slid in and out easily and the sheath didn't shrink back or anything. It was kinda crazy how well this stuff worked. Anyways hope this helps someone out there enjoy this quality knife.

my new favorite knife
i really love this knife. Out of the box, it could use a little honing on a strop and the leather sheath needs to be worked in a bit as it is a little on the tight side. they use a decent steel, so it will take an edge fairly easy and hold it fairly long. The spine is about 1/4'- 3/8' ( probably closer to 1/4). It's a heavy knife but seems really well balanced. A nice wide belly and full tang design. the handle is pretty basic with no finger indents but i like the feel in my hands. The tip is a bit thin and i do worry about putting that to the test. Overall, not the absolute best on the market but pretty close, imo, and for the money, you cant go wrong.

Fast for its size but uneven craftsmanship
This will be a review and comparison of both the Cold Steel Wild West Bowie and the Condor Undertaker, I’ve received and handled both from Amazon recently.Wild West Bowie:*Looks and feels more stout but also handles slower.*Wider handle, I wear medium gloves and this was not quite the perfect fit for my hands. Also had enough space for an extra finger underneath my grip. Definitely a better grip for L and XL hands*Better symmetry in grind on both sides of the blade, pretty nicely polished*Dull, very dull, completely blunt near the choil. I only have a couple stones and given the 1090 steel, I quickly realized the blade would need too much work to make sharp. Would not cut paperCondor Undertaker:*Relatively sharp, did not need much work to cut paper*Better/thinner grip for my medium sized hands, quicker to slash with too, easily faster to move with than the Wild West Bowie*Big belly, bites deep into wood*Sheath is tight as others have mentioned but I’m sure it’ll wear in nicely, not concerned*Uneven grinds on blade and handle, it’s pretty bad, Wild West Bowie fit and symmetry is quite better

I only bought it because it looks cool. I'm never gonna actually use it.
I have bins full of knives new in the package. It looked neat, I bought it. Looked at it, put it in the bin with the others. I'll never actually use it, I just like collecting things. Sometimes the only thing that gets me through the day is looking forward to whatever inebriated me ordered two days ago waiting for me on my porch. I find my trauma is temporarily soothed by buying things I don't need and putting them in what little space remains. It brought me temporary joy. It has fulfilled its purpose.

Very nice Bowie.
Love the ascetics of this large Bowie. Not only that it is of a very high quality. Very pleased with my purchase as it was a great value item I feel I got more than I paid for. Great job Condor.

It's a good knife but it's definitely not worth 100.
The fit and finish isn't great the edge was sharp but rough mill marks like it was sharpened with a grinder also the tip isn't very pointy but I suppose that's not the purpose of a bowie all in all I would find a different brand with better quality control this knife has great potential but mine was poorly executed. Also deep detents in the bevel which could lead the a bad break later

Sheath way too tight!
I love this knife! Small but very ergonomic handle that is surprising grippy without use of tape or glue spray. The blade came razor sharp out of the box however, I really had to work the knife in and out of the sheath just to break it in. After some time and lots of beating on the sheath to loosen it up the knife is somewhat easier to draw when and if needed. I still have quite a lot of work to do. Light weight is and understatement and I'm very confident carrying this tool/knife for EDC. As DBAD demonstrated on YouTube hacking and slashing on downed pine trees that are very soft to begin with I wouldn't recommend this for wood spilting. It's a blade for self defence not logging. Use an axe for that. I have full confidence this knife will dis embowel someone if used as directed for its intent and purpose. Jim Bowie would be very proud to carry this if he were alive today.
