Shortbread House of Edinburgh's Lemon Biscuit Tin 140g

The shortbread was even more delicious than I expected ; buttery and crisp with the candied ginger adding the right kind of balance to it. I served it to a friend of mine and she was so impressed with the first two bites itself that she took a picture of the box so she could order it for herself.

Great tasting shortbread cookies! They definitely didn't scrimp on the butter.

Do NOT buy these unless you want to get seriously addicted. These delicious cookies are buttery with a hint of toffee and a pleasing mouthfeel and crunch. Each bite should be eaten slowly with your eyes closed, imagining every molecule bursting on your tongue. They are indeed pricey for the size but worth every dollar.

Fairly good shortbread but way too expensive for 8 cookies. I've had a different brand that was same price for 16 squares & was phenomenal. Would not buy again.

I bought these to include in a gift and am really happy with them for that purpose. Based on the reviews I was worried they would show up broken, but all three boxes arrived with the cookies in great condition.The cute packaging makes them feel nicer than a random box from the grocery store, and the taste and texture are good (got the three pack and immediately snagged one of the extra boxes to keep for myself, lol). The crystallized ginger is well balanced & present without being too sharp or overpowering. The box is also a good size for fitting into a gift basket or box- looks about 4" x 6" or so.That said I would buy them again for gifting, but it was for myself I'd just go for homemade or a less expensive store-bought. They do taste nice but I think you also pay a steep premium for the packaging/branding. I also wish they were all butter rather than including vegetable oils, but that's on me for not reading the ingredients list.

As many others have said, most of the cookies were broken. But the real problem with these was the texture. Normally shortbread crumbles when you bite it but then kind of melts in your mouth. This had a very gritty texture which persisted while chewing, and then eventually turned kind of gluey. It’s so strange. They didn’t taste terrible (also not great, just so-so), but the texture was unpleasant enough that I didn’t want to eat them.
